The Court’s decision, written by Roberts, specifically said immunity does not carry to acts prior to taking office, personal acts committed while in office (That’s why Grant got a traffic ticket of sorts), or acts committed after leaving office. Also, if the president is impeached, charges could be levied with regard to why he was impeached.
Any competent lawyer would argue that though President Trump, though in a position of immunity, was discussing a prior criminal activity, in effect a furtherance of that criminal activity, thus not protected, and the lawyer would be correct.
Again, before I am attacked, I am not saying that is what happened. I don’t believe Trump is guilty of anything in the Bragg case. It is unclear to anyone precisely of what he was convicted, even to the jury.
In effect there is no crime. No one has EVER been convicted of this and no one else ever will be convicted of this. It is arbitrary and capricious.

Yes, the Soviets did that. They also didn’t have enough personnel or weapons. Stalin emptied the prisons and conscripted them. They were forced to run, unarmed, into German fire, with Soviet machine guns at their backs, with the idea they would exhaust Germany’s supply of ammo. If they made it far enough, they were told to pick up a weapon of a dead comrade.

That and the more targeted line of “black people can’t own guns?”
Yep. I read an interesting piece in The Amsterdam News, a black newspaper, back in the 80s that removing firearms from poor people removed them from the people who needed them most. It was a particularly good, pro 2A piece. I wish I could find it.

Ah, remember when Lincoln delivered a speech on the battlefield of Gettysburg and he castigated the leadership of the South and jabbed at his political opponents? What a memorable speech that was.

Yes. One of only two Marines to win two Medals of Honor. Raised a Quaker. There’s a book concerning his exposing a coup attempt. His dissatisfaction with the war machine was well known. A group of bankers approached him to lead a coup and literally take over the White House. Despite his dissatisfactions with the government, he immediately marched to the Capitol and exposed the plot.
