Fall is right around the corner and before we know it those ballots will be in our hands for the November elections and one proposition already has people talking.
Proposition 32 aims to raise California's minimum wage from the current $16 an hour up to $18 for most employees. According to the Office of Governor Newsom, healthcare workers could eventually see their minimum wage reach an hourly rate of $25. Although many see minimum wage increases as a positive, others are not in support of the proposition.
"Often times people think of a minimum wage increase as something that affects a larger business, a franchise, a larger corporation that’s employing hundreds of thousands of employees, but for the small business owner, these minimum wage increases would have a devastating effect. These small business owners in the community just can’t compete,” said National Federation Of Independent Business Director, John Kabateck.

why would anyone accept 16 or 18 when they can get 20 at mcdonalds?
Drive all the small businesses out of business to the multinational corporations have no competition.
Raise it to $25, Americans leave, only illegals left, blockaid California and deport them all.
Never underestimate the stupidity of an elected leftist
Just raise it to $481 an hour. Then they’ll all be millionaires and you can tax the hell out of them.
Heck, raise the minimum wage to one trillion dollars per second
Why not $100/hour?
The true minimum wage is always zero.
Teenagers who can’t be profitably hired at the government’s minimum wage will either get the true minimum wage, or else perhaps pursue alternative careers in the illegal drug industry.
‘The nine most terrifying words in the English language are “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”’ Ronald Reagan
This idiotic idea plus the fallout from A.B. 5 which wiped out a zillion independent contractor jobs will sure keep Californians from fleeing.
NOT.
One thing about the communist democrats in the Kalifornia state house, they know how to kill jobs.
They're not worth $20. But you're hire them at $7.25. They just need the money to pay for gas and for their smartphone.
At McDonald's you won't end up getting stuck at $7.25, you can climb the ladder if you decide to stay with them.
Why do they always act like that is not intentional?
more inflation on the way!
After California raised the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20 per hour:
Papa Murphy’s family size Hawaiian pizza in Elk Grove, CA $23.
Same pizza in Reno, NV $16.
I support this. Let California destroy itself.
Imagine the wage competition if there was no minimum wage. Don’t pay enough, don’t get workers. Pay too much, people will line up for blocks to get your jobs.
Free markets are much more efficient and “fair” than govt run markets.
Ten years ago, Rush asked why not raise it to $50? Why not,$100?
Why would any business pay 16 or 18 or 20, when they can leave the state for a saner locale. Won’t get much for their real estate, but the equipment can be loaded on a truck.
true that.
