240 years ago, tonight, an American Patriot, Paul Revere, threw aside all misgivings about his own personal safety and freedoms, and embarked upon a most famous undertaking... LISTEN, my children, and you shall hear Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere, On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five; Hardly a man is now alive Who remembers that famous day and year. 5 He said to his friend, ‘If the British march By land or sea from the town to-night, Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry arch Of the North Church tower as a signal light,— One, if by land,...

No sense in breaking my Christmas Tradition. Every generation has their heroes. When they pass, we compare them with the newcomers. And they come up short. The Beatles. Muhammad Ali. Ronald Reagan For Dad, it was Al Jolson. Joe Louis. Cal Coolidge. But my father knew music. Kid, he told me, here's the deal: Caruso - Power Gigli - Passion Bjoerling - Perfection I acknowledge his wisdom... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVYCudlVMSM Merry Christmas
  • Ken Norton dies. RIP

I don't have a link at this time, but I just read on AOL that Kenny Norton had gone to his reward. Never liked his style of boxing, but HE made Ali THE Greatest. In their first fight, he broke Ali's jaw in the early rounds. Still, Ali went the distance and lost in a decision. In their 2nd fight in Yankee Stadium, Ali won in a split decision. If it wasn't for Ali, Norton would be an obscure "also-ran" In any case, Norton was one of the TOP Heavy-Weights of the era. RIP

Anyone have any info on Home Security Cameras? I'm looking specifically for a Day\Night camera with excellent long range nightime capabilities - 60 feet and beyond. I've read numerous reviews on various cameras but I was wondering if anyone had any specific favorites they would recommend. Thanks !
  • Direct TV and Windows XP MCE

I have Windows XP Media Center Edition with a Cable hook-up to the built in TV tuner. Using the Guide feature, which downloads up to 2 weeks of TV listings, I can select any program to record to my hard drive and view it at my convenience, or record it to a DVD. Works great.Love it... I just got Direct TV. Excellent picture. A few more channels. Now however, after about 4 days with it, I discover to my horror that I no longer have the previous features of Windows MCE. There is no downloaded Guide for Direct TV so...

My first post, so your indulgence please. I have an extensive darkroom set-up:2 Bessler 23CII enlargers, a 4X5 enlarger, and all the associated timers, easels, trays and filters etc. My question to fellow photography enthusiasts, and anyone else with an opinion - Should I dump it all and go completely digital, or, should I stay with this declining means of expression. I know that I can buy a negative scanner for all my 35mm film, but, I have yet to find a 4x5 scanner. I know that the initial outlay for a decent printer for digital prints will be costly,...
