Am I the only one who remembers him promising to cut interest rates 3 times during 2024, in late 2023? January 2024 came and went-—no cut. June, same thing. December, same thing no cut. The guy is a blowhard and needs to go. And have you ever heard him mention bond sales or a balanced budget? No bleeping way!

Immature or not I’m still going with bulldozer. My own skill set is way past trowels and brushes and leans toward much more powerful stuff.. I’m not the guy who might be skeered of something waddling around the universe.

The bluff where the hard thing is, has been excavated before. The large cover rocks are mined, not weathered. The bluff has been drilled into some 400 feet in at least two directions and is mostly dirt, as noted by the tailings, not solid rock. If you’ve watched the whole series you might remember they already brought in a crane to move enough of the big rocks to create a flat spot to drill from.

And, oh, yeah, I’ll see your 58 years of scratching and brushing and raise you a decade of drilling, busting, and generally demolishing whatever needs moving. I’ve been licensed to do all that stuff for a really long time.

Early this morning the radio guy said they located this guy’s carcus because there was cell phone activity there. Was he just calling for doordash or was there another person and they were using cell phones to keep in touch? They haven’t said “suicide” yet and need to rule out a second shooter who might have arranged a “suicide” to hide his trail. And was this guy known to be skilled enough to get off at least three hits?

From what I’ve seen so far tanker trucks are bringing in Potable water. They’re using porta potties for human waste , black water,and I expect that will be hauled off by the porta potty truck guys. Grey water,such as from washing, cooking, showering, etc. is legal to dump on the grass so not a real big problem there.

SWR? Now you’ve started it. When are those guys gonna bring in an old school, non-digital, bulldozer, and start terracing into that rocky bluff to find out what the big hard thing is? I’ll drive it if they are short of help.

Do you think the Guard Gators would have a discerning taste? Could they tell Mexican from Venezuelian , say? And wot if they develop a preference and let some go by just waiting for a Guat? I know they love them some dead chicken so maybe we should feed the wetbacks chicken soup to keep them smelling right?

The astronuts have always claimed that it costs 10 grand per pound to put butts and stuff into orbit. A round trip to Mars would up that number a bunch making that some really expensive gold. Maybe Elon can trim the cost a bit but the expensive part might be shipping a mill to make Double Eagles with. Or maybe we could just send up the girls and they could wear it back as nose rings? I guess I could see waiting at the dock for a load of Krugerands to drop in?

If I have it right they rounded up a bunch of FEMA trailers to house the dirtbagz in? I hope they have a plan to make them avoid trashing the trailers. Something like: You trash it, you live in it forever. And if you dirty it up, the farther we send you. Uganda is great at all times of the year.

-—Total gold around would be a 72 feet cube? Geez! The miners and panners have been working their picks off. I remember when that cube was only 36 feet on a side——been awhile.

The high end stuff is way to easy and tempting to counterfeit for me to be interested in it. And at 3,000+ $per oz gold just isn’t practical for day to day bizness.

A few years ago one of our local coin dealers got took for something over 40 grand by buying some gold ingots that looked great. Gold plated, spot tested OK, were the right size, weighed OK, but were gold plated lead. The only give-away was the thickness which he didn’t check.

And if one is saving metals, at least gold, as a bad-times hedge ask yourself how you would get rid of it if bizness takes a serious downturn. The dealer you bought it from will probly be gone or at least not buying.

I’ve been a silver bug for half a century or so but not much gold. If one lives in a smallish community, close knit folks, who might not be greatly effected by a downturn then small chunks of gold might very well work for trading. But don’t take it to the grocery store ‘cause it ain’t gonna work.

Might be splitting a bit of hair but my last Sears Fall/Winter catalog is marked ‘92/’93 and is also marked good thru July 15, ‘93. Mine is right over there on the book shelf. I keep many old catalogs ‘cause sometimes I just want to know where stuff came from-——and there is a lot of “stuff” hereabouts.

The Lancaster Dam Busters had a neat, super simple and low-tech system for getting the drop altitude just right. They had two spotlights pointing down at a slight angle such that when the two beams came together on the water the altitude was just right.

Copper ingots? weeellll, maybe. Have you seen the price of copper as of late? And that gets me to wheel weight lead which is perfect for subsonic bullets and can be made into them quickly. I have a couple hundred pounds in the stash and would buy/trade for more when it comes around. I melt the stuff into particular ingots and in certain circles it is extremely “wampum.”

‘93 Sears catalog? Yup. I always kept Sears catalogs for a couple of years because they always changed at least a few things and you could usually still get stuff from an older catalog.. And I still have my 93’s: Summer, winter and wish list. Then there’s my stash of Sears tool catalogs. I bought Craftsman tools for at least 7 decades and that pile is even bigger.

If they guy is talking about the one Mosler bank safe that survived the blast he might be sort of right?

Yeah, LP’s definition of money is right out of my old Econ 101 class from the early 60’s. But the digital stuff has made it necessary to add LMC’s limitation. While it might be fun to play with bitcoins, and maybe even make some money doing it like Barron Trump has reportedly done, there is no bleeping way I’m going to bet my security and financial well being on something I can’t stash a heap of on a shelf in the back room.

You wouldn’t want to show up here with a picture of a bitcoin, on your phone, if things get tough and you need some hardware, groceries, or any of the other things survival might require?

Side note on the Interstate: I well remember back in the 60’s when it was getting started the claim was that it was costing one million $’s per mile. And the inter changes cost another million. But that was when you could buy a hamburger for a quarter! Now I think maybe the center stripes cost about that much?
