Powell isn’t smart enough to precipitate dirty water, never mind a recession. He’s a closet dimokrap and did his dambdest to help Mumbles and the dims thru 2024. Am I the only one who remembers him promising to cut interest rates 3 times during 2024, in late 2023? January 2024 came and went-—no cut. June, same thing. December, same thing no cut. The guy is a blowhard and needs to go. And have you ever heard him mention bond sales or a balanced budget? No bleeping way!

***Powell isn’t smart enough to precipitate dirty water, never mind a recession***

But still, he wants to accomplish that. There are vulnerable indications. Trump's strategy to overcome inflation and stagflation is accelerated growth {e.g. greatly increased tariff revenues.} Powell is trying to stump that growth with high interest rates.

Whether that will work remains to be seen. 🤷‍♂️

Remove Powell from the fray❗

Powell isn’t smart enough to precipitate dirty water...

He does as he's directed by his masters.

I’d like to see any economic justification for Powell’s actions (or inactions). There is none.

Used to be, right or wrong, back in the Greenspan days, you lowered rates to get the economy warmed up, and you’d raise them to slow it down. And there may have actually been justification for doing things. They don’t even BS about it now.
