Great story. It reminds me of one I heard a while ago about two Avro Ansons that “piggybacked” in Australia late in the war.

Can a Christian be goaded into a false sense of guilt?

It can be even worse than that

I think the whole issue comes down to this: What course of action will most glorify God?

If a large portion of your resources are taken by government, is sent through a great political machine and a small part of that is dribbled out to those the machine was ostensibly constructed to help the government will get the credit for those scraps it dispenses

If, however,an individual Christian gives of his own free will to the poor directly (or through his local church) then all of what is given goes for what it is intended and Christ himself will be glorified.

Social justice is a thinly veiled term for Marxism. Putting a Christian veneer on it does not make it anything less. Of course as Christians we have a duty to help those around us, but it should NOT be mandated by the government. The Bible also has injunctions against stealing, but that doesn’t stop the social justice crowd.

Well said. BTW this is mentioned in the scriptures

    Galatians 1:6-9 (NASB)
I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

Don't forget making English the national language. Why should taxpayers have to foot the bill to pay for translators or so every form known to man is printed in every language known to man.

BTW if it is a condition of citizenship that you show a working knowledge of English then why do the ballots need to be printed in 40 different languages?

Your idea has a name. It is called “tax credits”, and some states have limited programs that allow tax deductions for donations to private voucher foundations

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of a tuition based system. I find it morally wrong that ones property can be directly taxed. It says, in essence, that your property does not belong to you even though you pay for, maintain, insure, and occupy the property. If you do not pay annual tribute “your” property will be taken from you and given to someone who will pay.

A few hundred years ago this was called serfdom

    Your tax dollars at work.

There should be a way of opting out of public school funding if you home school or private school your kids you should have your property tax and state and federal taxes reduced by the amount that would go to public schools. When they find that the parents are seeking out a school for their kids that isn't completely in the tank for this kind of whackoism and it hits them in the wallet there may be some limits put on this stuff

It seems to me there is a very fair and efficient way of solving this issue. If you don't like the way the schools are teaching your children pull them out of the public school and put a law in place that would remove that portion of your property tax that would normally go to school funding. This would also apply to those property owners who do not have children.

I agree that our troubles arise from changing the original document. If we could go back to just the original ten amendments it would be ideal. But I still think if we could starve the dragon by taking away the gushing flow of tax dollars it would be a good start, although we would probably need to require currency of gold, silver and copper to prevent their inflating their way to free spending.

I have always thought seizure of accounts and property by the IRS without going before a judge and getting a legal warrant is a violation of the 4th amendment protections and should be prohibited.

If we find fault with the Constitution, amend it. Abolish slavery. Prohibit alcohol. Repeal prohibition.

I have wondered if it would be permitted for individual states to remove their ratification of amendments. And if the number of states to pull their approval of an amendment (the 16th perhaps) is three quarters of the whole could the amendment be repealed by that means rather than going through the federal government.

It would make for an interesting states rights battle.

    suspect as much.

remember most if not ALL cases like this are the democrats doing this to themselves.

Remember the professor who hate crimed herself?

or the congresswoman/man who self spraypainted their office sign.

Or Major Owens and Barney Frank saying they were pelted with bad words as they "ran the gauntlet" of tea partiers to get to the house chamber.

don't think the conservatives on this court would be intimidated by this bonehead. FDR was very popular. Barack is not.

Justice Alito, We won't get to you but we know you have family at this address in Cleveland. You wouldn't want anything to happen to them would you?

If the law is ruled unconstitutional (please God)then it goes down and the tax provisions go down with it. They would need to start over.

Then Obama will threaten to increase the size of the court to 27 and will populate it with his own rubber stamp hacks. This will intimidate the court into going along with anything he wants.

    It has been done before.

The problem is a state can’t stop the Feds from taxing anyone. States can opt out of various federal programs, but that doesn’t stop the federal taxes associated with those programs

Which is why we need to repeal the 16th amendment and do away with the leviathan of corruption it brings. If any other governmental entity wanted to search and / or seize an individual's property they would have to go before a judge and get a warrant. The IRS can seize whatever they want, whenever they want and the individual can do nothing to stop them. Even if your account is fully paid and their records show a balance of 0.00 they will still hold all of your assets indefinitely and there is nothing you can do about it.

No, by law, only Democrats are allowed to receive the votes of out-of-staters, deceased (the out-of-planers, since they no longer reside on this plane of existence), felons in prison (since that is where most of the members of the MA General Court live or will be shortly retiring to) and illegals in Massachusetts. Also, by law, Democrat Local Election Clerks are allowed to throw out Republican ballots or count them as Democrat votes, whichever is needed. Sorry

Actually, we may be in a better position in MA where vote fraud is concerned because the unions and education overlords have the voting public so programed to pull the D lever the Dem bosses don't think they need to engage in fraud. Everywhere else for a Republican to win by 1 point they really need to win by 15 - 20 points just to cancel out the fraud.

True Grit (Gotta put the Duke in here)

I agree about needing a Wayne film in this list but I'd go with Blood Alley. It's about a small Chinese village using an old paddle wheel ferry to escape the Maoist takeover. It is not at all kind to the Communists who invented the phrase "Politically Correct" to mean realigning your thoughts to agree with Mao.

Besides the usual talk radio, OTR is my next option. I listen on Live365 and I subscribe to assorted podcasts of old time radio. True entertainment there.

This is another fantastic site. Some of the scripts were written by the top Scifi writers of the day.
