Gunmen assault couple, killing husband Wife kidnapped, driven to ATM In a spectacularly wanton killing that marked the fifth New Orleans homicide in less than 12 hours, a 32-year-old man was herded into his home at gunpoint Friday morning as his wife was snatched away and forced to withdraw money from an ATM, then executed when his wife and the kidnapper returned. Christopher Briede and his wife, Amy, were leaving their Faubourg St. John cottage and getting into their car at about 8:30 a.m. when at least two men drove up in a faded red sedan, police said. I'm in the process of getting my concealed carry permit here in Louisiana, one of the many hoops I had to jump through was to get a full set of fingerprints taken by "a bona fide law enforcement agency" and also a passport style photograph signed by the same LEO that took the prints. I can understand a background check but can someone give me some insight as to why the prints and photo are needed? It just made me feel like I was doing something wrong.
