Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND), and a critic of the rally, said, "If that many people have enough money to go to D.C. to march, then they don't need reparations."

Bump to that! I love the good Reverend! (and he makes an excellent point! LOL!)

He was bought for less than a million actually. Quite rare for a Derby and Preakness winner.

Yeah...I saw it...he was making a joke aimed at the ridiculousness of bringing politics into this I think. That ws how I heard it anyhow...and I laughed and I ADORE Dubya.

    It's ok...you may root for whom you please...this is a free country! : )

I don't care who owns the horse...that really is besides the point here. Politics has nothing to do with it.

And chess may be A sport of kings but THE "Sport of Kings" is absolutely Thoroghbred Racing...

That has nothing to do with this at all! War Emblem is a beautiful thoroughbred who is simply the best in the field! The saudi's have been in horse racing for years...and contribute quite a lot to the sport...and I for one, share their love of this most royal of sports...the sport of Kings!

I saw parts of the All Stars making fun of Yasser--and I missed it live because I was grocery shopping (hey, we've gotta eat). I've seen most of his bizarro show & knew the damn thing was a set-up--it plays well to the Euroweenies, the Arab/Muslim street--heck, even the Pope...including Yasser saying that the place was holy to Christians & Moslems. I yelled, "since when is the Church holy to the MOSLEMS especially when your goons are inside shooting up the place & holding hostages?"

Nothing Christian is holy to Islam...Islam SPITS on the essence of Christianity by denying the Truth that Christ is the Savior and Son of God. They say he is merely a prophet yet have the GALL to claim OUR holy sites are holy to them? The utter nerve...

Please fellow freepers, pray for our brethren in the Holy land. My family has a close friend who is an arch preist in the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia who was physically attacked recently by a gang of Palestinian Muslims...for NO reason other than that he is a Russian priest...he is OK but the situation there is NOT good...

Tomorow is Holy Thursday on the Julian calendar, which is the calendar of the Orthodox Church...it is the day when the Last Supper is remembered...Friday is Good Friday; the rememberence of the Crucifiction of Christ...and Sunday is the Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior - Pascha - Easter...How sad that the Paschal bells may be silenced by the evil fighting that is going on in this most sacred of lands...

    Pray for peace...

All churches have problems with clergy from time to time. ROCOR is no different. ROCOR does remove clergy who fail to meet standards, however. Much of the criminal investigation in this case started because ROCOR reported the behavior to the police. Contrast this to other churches -- including other Orthodox churches.

Exactly right. The ROCOR has had some problems with clergy...as most churches have but the ROCOR doesn't coverr things up and sweep things under the rug. The Synod of Bishops of the ROCOR discipline and censure any wrong-doers and when neccesary, take legal action.

I agree,if this is the video of the chechen rebels killing the russian soldier then no warning could be strong enough.

That same Russian soldier has been canonized as a New Martyr by the Russian Orthodox Church. God bless him and all others who have suffered at the hands of the barbarians...and God bless Daniel Pearl...may he rest in peace and may God smile on his family and unborn son.

There was more than one Russian mistake. Their program was certainly NOT more artistic, and the greater difficulty of it is debatable. The Candians did some difficult tricks too.

Actually..it isn't debatable. At least not the aspect of technical dificulty. It was a more difficult. Even the announcers (all skaters themselves) were saying that the Rusian team had a more difficult program. The footwork, the jumps and the order in which it flowed in the program made it so.

I was actually very surprised by the whole thing. I expected the Russian team to win, since each time I have seen both pairs skate the Russian team was always better, IMO but in this case the Canadian team was better overall.

A referee making an allegation and a judge denying the said allegation doesn't mean that it happened or did not happen. Accusations can be made but without concrete proof what can be done about it if it is true?

To ME it would seem that there had to be some sort of dealings since the Canadien skaters were better than the Russian pair in the long program on Monday night...but just because it seems that way doesn't make it so. It IS a very subjective thing. Please let me know, was it the artistic marks that put the Russians over the top? Or simply the ordinals? Does anyone know?

Hey pal, you're way out of your league in debating Bluester. Instead of whining about how America decides to conduct its foreign policy in supporting the glorious Kosovo Liberation Army -- conquerers of Yugoslavia and defenders of the Tetovo Republic -- he/she fights for freedom in the independent land of Slovenia.

A - I'm no pal of ANYONE who supports the terrorist KLA. B - I'm not whining about anything. I was firmly againt the illegal bombing of Yugoslavia and the Clinton administrations support of the anything but "glorious" KLA and I stand by my convictions on this subject. It was wrong and will alwys be wrong. C - There is no such thing as the "Tetevo Republic". D - So poor Slovenia is next? Will you monsters ever stop?

Some day Slovenia will be attacked by the New World Order, pan-Slavic League, or the European Union. Bluester will be there in the forefront like his/her Hungarian brothers and sisters in 1956 or Czech cousins in 1968. Then Bluester will lead other like minded Slovenians in manning the barricades and tossing the Molotov Cocktails until the forces of freedom can arrive to lend a hand and turn back the tide of tyranny...

Slovenia is safe as long as you and your terorist pals stay the hell away from it.

You on the other hand will still still be whining and moaning when the blue berets of the United Nations come knocking on your door to register you as a subject of the New World Order. When you start your left wing rants they will kindly direct you to the nearest filtration camp where some nice Russian thugs just released from prison will take over you reeducation like they do in Chechnya now...

Lol! Keep dreaming! I live in the USA and this will never happen in my lifetime. And being of Russian extraction myself, I'm sure the Russian "thugs" you speak of would give me a warm hug and three kisses while saying "Privet druga"!! Oh and, I am anything BUT "left-wing"...LOL!

The whole world at war now son, if you can't recognize that KLA fighters and Chechen nationalists kill the enemies of all free men -- then perhaps you are not one...

A -I am not a "son" to anyone...since I am a woman. B - The KLA and Chechen nationalists ARE the enemies of all free men!

Not much in the big picture, and CERTAINLY not warranting WORSHIP.
Adoration - O.K., Praise - sure, if you like.
WORSHIP ? That goes over the line as I see it.

Ah...I see the problem here...you are misunderstanding. We do NOT worship Mary. We DO revere her. She has the highest place in Heaven because she is the Mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is a very common misconception made by those who think that the Virgin Mary is worshiped. She is not. God alone is actually worshipped. Praise and reverance for the Virgin Mary is not the same as worship of God.

If I believe in the God prior to the birth of Christ, but do not believe in Jesus (non-Christian belief), do we believe in the same God?

I think so...except that to those of us who do believe in Jesus (that He is the Messiah spoken of in the Old Testament) you are "behind the times" and denying the Truth..or have "missed the boat" according to what WE believe in...

Christians believe that Christ is the Messiah that is foretold of by the prophets of the Old Testament. Those that do not believe in Christ are stll waiting for the Messiah to come...but we Christians know that He has already come. This is our Faith.

Again, may I ask what is the relevence of this?
