Two sisters decided in May that, if they had to choose between verbally beating me up every time Trump did something they didn’t like (which was several times daily), and having a relationship with me in which we all respected a “no politics” rule, they could not have their freedom of speech eroded just to keep me happy. Or something like that. We had an ongoing email correspondence with messages often several per week, for over 5 years. I said, IF they could not keep from bullying me over their anti-Trumpism, I could no longer continue in the email strings. So one of them said that she would not give up her right to free speech and was glad to not have to worry about that any more and some other insulting insinuations, and the other one hasn’t said or messaged a word to me since then. It makes me very, very sad. We are 71 to 65.

We cleaned out/reorganized the freezer today. There was a package of ground beef from March 2025. It was $3.99/lb.

I am not sure I understand why there is such a shortage, and (always the cynic) wonder whether it is at least partially manufactured?

Increasing taxes and homeowners/automobile insurance are choking out middle class seniors in our area. They have homes that have been paid off for years, and are paying minimally $1,000/month for just real estate taxes and insurance. Then to see the local news of some worthless streetcar system being built over 5 years, then the city is asking us to go support the businesses that are going down due to the construction is making them inaccessible. Then the state just accidentally overpaid the local largest and highly incompetent school district by $30.5 million, and the school district says it cannot pay back the $30.5 million AND reduce their budget back the other $30.5 million all at once. Their budget is something over $24,000 per student per year, and the kids cannot read, graduate at about a 65% rate, etc., etc. So some are suggesting that the state just “eat” the $30.5 million. Then open the news today, and see that someone has decided the city should build and own a new soccer stadium, currently estimated to cost $114 million, surely will go over $200 million by the time it is done, and we were never asked nor voted for any such thing. This kind of crap is what is causing somewhat both affordability AND choice crises, because we end up with limited options just to survive and continue to live in this financial climate. IMHO

And to include that there is no evidence of Trump being a pedophile.

Someone posted that on our NextDoor today, that Trump is a pedo. So they are spreading that as if it is a fact.

Yeah, with a full SWAT-type team, and some handcuffs.

This is good news. Hoping they can put teeth into enforcing it somehow. It might be enough to motivate some families to self-deport, IMO.

What you said - that was my first reaction to the headline. They DEEPLY hate Trump supporters. Hating Trump is the overriding theme of their lives. Hating Trump supporters, while calling us “haters”, overrides all of their relationships.

I am contemplating drafting my obituary in which I would state that my greatest heartache of my later years was that (naming them) for two of my sisters, their hatred of Donald Trump was stronger than their desire to have any relationship with me, for no other reason than I did not agree.

Then I read their social media posts, frequently calling our side “haters”.

I don’t expect any of this to ever change. Many millions of people, especially middle-age to senior females, are 100% dug in on this hatred game.

My daughter was able to see them as far south as Atlanta area. We are going to drive to an open area nearby (Omaha) to try to see them better tonight, though many around here got fabulous photos last night.

Congratulations! I just looked mine up, seems I hit 20 years a few weeks ago. Time certainly flies, doesn’t it? I know I was a serious lurker for several years before joining up.

And the dems and MSM will go off about how the POTUS and administration are flip-flopping and creating confusion.

The rogue judges and courts will skate free; the SNAP recipients will end up with some double payments, and only POTUS will end up suffering any consequences over all of this, IMHO.

I flew out of Atlanta yesterday about 1 p.m. EVERYTHING at the airport seemed to be running very smoothly. No issues with my flight, lines moved quickly, employees were friendly and helpful.

I might have said “screw that” once to an employer, who promptly fired me. I was advocating for a $.50/hour raise for an excellent part-time assistant we had, who worked 10 hours per week. His net was around $300K/ year. He suggested I “step up my game” and make sure he didn’t forget to do things or miss client appointments, since he had newly discovered adult ADHD, he said.

It seemed to me like this story dropped out of the MSM pretty quickly; I guess they couldn’t find an angle to blame it on POTUS or show he was involved or profited somehow.

If, by “immigration reform”, you are referring to changing the existing laws, then I am DEFINITELY in favor of education reform over immigration reform.

By applying and enforcing the existing immigration laws and regulations, and under the leadership of POTUS, we will make progress at reigning in the abuses.

If nothing is done to reform “education”, we will continue to have tax-payer funded indoctrination processes, likely to become even more progressive, as crazy liberal types begin to feel the pressure of reduced funding and reduced social support.
