CAIRO (AP) — The leader of the Islamic State group has ordered the terror organization to start minting gold, silver and copper coins for its own currency — the Islamic dinar. A website affiliated with the group posted the order late Thursday, saying IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi instructed his followers to mint the coins to "change the tyrannical monetary system" modelled on Western economies that "enslaved Muslims."

It seems very odd that the MSM would be participating so vigorously in the reporting on the various scandals that have exploded on the scene since mid last week. I've seen numerous comments scattered about skeptical of the motives behind this uncharacteristic attack by the MSM on the Obama administration. Buried within the Benghazi debacle is information that I believe this administration has carefully kept as obscure as they possibly could for years now, and are now muddying the waters in an effort to keep commentary on the core nature of the Benghazi situation minimalized. The subject they wish to...
  • What is "Closing The Gunshow Loophole"

What is "Closing The Gunshow Loophole" ? At the top of the list of changes to gun transaction restrictions the left has bleated on for years is what they have deceptively labelled "Closing The Gunshow Loophole". On it's face, it would seem they are referring to firearms transactions that occur at gunshows between private parties not involving an NICS background check. When you listen carefully, though, you also hear the Progressive explanations include firearms transactions that occur at other venues such as flea markets. Every now and then, if you listen really closely, the liberal will let slip that the...

(Excerpt) Uber is the Executive Director of a highly secretive group called Project Vigilant, which, as Greenberg writes, "monitors the traffic of 12 regional Internet service providers" and "hands much of that information to federal agencies." More on that in a minute. Uber revealed yesterday that Lamo, the hacker who turned in Manning to the federal government for allegedly confessing to being the WikiLeaks leaker, was a "volunteer analyst" for Project Vigilant; that it was Uber who directed Lamo to federal authorities to inform on Manning by using his contacts to put Lamo in touch with the "highest level people...

  • Smoking lowers chances of surviving throat cancer

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - For people with cancer of the larynx or lower pharynx, continuing to smoke or drink alcohol make it less likely that they'll survive, while eating a diet rich in vegetables and vitamin C improves their survival, a new study shows. ADVERTISEMENT "One might think, now I that have cancer, what's the point of stopping smoking? But there is clearly a benefit in doing that; it will improve your survival," Dr. Rajesh P. Dikshit commented to Reuters Health. Tobacco smoking, alcohol drinking, and diet have all been linked to the development of cancer in the larynx,...

I received the "American Community Survey" in my mailbox today. It is a 21 page census type questionaire reminiscent of the 2000 census long form that I received. It claims to be from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economics and Statistics Administration, U.S. Census Bureau. I've never heard of this. It claims that "Title 13, sections 182 and 225 of the U.S. Code"...."REQUIRES that you provide the information asked in this survey to the best of your knowledge". http://www.census.gov/acs/www/ Has anyone else heard of or received these little gems? Sorry in advance if this has already been posted.

To All, Am looking to move from Erath county, Tx. to north Ga., and would appreciate comments on local law enforcement attitudes, availability of places, and laws in general as it relates to guns and shooting. Target shooting is my primary hobby, not much of a hunter, but would take turkey or wild hog if given the chance. Any and all comments/ opinions are welcome, and thank you in advance!

and believe it or not, I'm still alive. First thing that happened, I heard the dogs freakin' out. Grabbed the Homegun (12 ga with #4), ran outside. When I felt in control, I yelled "What's goin' on?!!!???" Response was "Erath County Sherriff". That was it, in it's entirety. I then yelled, "I am laying down my shotgun." He said "OK" and shone his light on me. The officer (I didn't catch his name) acted like he was a county Sherriff's Deputy on an erroneous 911 call to a country residence where the Dad takes the protection of his family ultimately ...
