SANTA CRUZ — New details have emerged around organs found mysteriously discarded on Ocean Street last week, though several questions remained unanswered. Santa Cruz resident Ar’Mani McCoy told the Sentinel that on the morning of Dec. 15, she was returning home from a dentist appointment via a stop at Ferrell’s. Along the way, she spotted smeared blood below a heart, lying on the sidewalk. Nearby was a crushed paper cup and a plastic grocery store bag filled with blood and what turned out to have a liver inside. McCoy said her first response was that what she was seeing must...

I'm looking for FReepers' choice of best rendition of "Silver Bells" (assuming one exists) for my Christmas playlist. We can strike off the list those versions covered by: Dean Martin (pleh!) Billie Eilish (awful, and sung with a perpetually stupid look on her face) Ol' Bing

For the 2023 model year, American Honda announces the return of 11 on-road motorcycle models. From cruisers to miniMOTOs, scooters and sport bikes, the announcement includes a diverse range of motorcycles that showcase the breadth of Honda's lineup. The highlight of the announcement is the new "T" trim level of the Rebel 1100 platform. The Rebel 1100T DCT builds on the success of Honda's "new-school" cruiser platform with "bagger" styling (including wind protection and substantial cargo space), as well as Honda's advanced dual clutch transmission (DCT). In addition to this new version, the standard Rebel 1100 is back in both...

What exactly happened at the home of Paul and Nancy Pelosi on Friday morning? Many questions still remain the day after a man allegedly broke into the residence and assaulted the husband of the Speaker of the House. As more details emerge about the case, more questions are being raised. Naturally, Democrats and their comrades in the activist media are pinning this on former President Donald Trump because he is responsible for all evil that occurs in the United States. Others have speculated that the incident was the result of an affair Paul Pelosi was having with his assailant. But...

Had the opportunity to attend my very first gun show at the Benton, AR Gun And Knife Show last weekend, along with some neighbors. It was a hoot! As gun ownership in Kalifornia is anything but easy, and especially so in Sillycon Valley, I'd never, in thirty-five years there, undertaken to attend such a show. But enough about that place. I'm told this was a comparatively small show. What surprised me first off was the variety of people attending: Families with small kids, all races, all ages, both genders.Good advice in general"An armed society is a polite society," as they...

Last year, Kawasaki revealed plans to electrify all of its motorcycles in developed markets by 2035, and also have at least 10 electric or hybrid models in the range by 2025. Now, late-stage prototypes for both types of powertrains have been revealed thanks to a surprise demonstration ahead of the Suzuka 8-Hour motorcycle race in Japan. Kawasaki gave no prior notice of the demonstration and made no subsequent announcement, nor did it release any images. However, thanks to friends at the Japanese motorcycle magazine Auto-By who were present at the demonstration, we’ve acquired detailed images of both prototypes. Hybrid The...

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – A motorcycle flew off the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge around 9:45 a.m. Thursday, according to California Highway Patrol. The motorcyclist was struck by a Mini Cooper when the car was merging into the fast lane, and the bike flew off the bridge, though the motorcyclist stayed on the bridge, Officer Mark Andrews told KRON4. The motorcyclist transported himself to a hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Mini Cooper was not cited. The CHP told KRON4 they did attempt to retrieve the motorcycle, but were unsuccessful. They sent a dive team...

Almost seven years ago (September 14th, 2015), researchers at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) detected gravitational waves (GWs) for the first time. Their results were shared with the world six months later and earned the discovery team the Noble Prize in Physics the following year. Since then, a total of 90 signals have been observed that were created by binary systems of two black holes, two neutron stars, or one of each. This latter scenario presents some very interesting opportunities for astronomers. If a merger involves a black hole and neutron star, the event will produce GWs and a...

Cisco made a splash when it ponied up a record-breaking $50 million donation to fight homelessness in Silicon Valley. Now, that money is running out and even more people are sleeping on the streets. So what has it accomplished? The donation helped fund 30 new apartment buildings for low-income and formerly homeless residents, provided cash to prevent struggling tenants from losing their homes and improved internet access in affordable buildings. Cisco was the first local tech giant to commit such a large sum to housing and homelessness, and since then, companies including Google, Facebook (now Meta) and Apple have followed...

TOKYO -- Honda Motor and three Japanese rivals plan to discontinue about 20 motorcycle models by the end of this year, Nikkei has learned, in response to tougher emissions standards to be implemented in Japan in the fall. The retired motorbikes represent 10% of the roughly 190 models available from Honda, Yamaha Motor, Suzuki Motor and Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Going forward, the companies will shift to electrics. Honda will electrify its entire lineup of vehicles by the 2040s. Yamaha will make 90% of new vehicles plug-ins by 2050. n one of Chris Evans' latest interviews, the Lightyear star was swarmed with puppies – one of which took a bite at his crotch. In the undoubtedly awkward encounter during the interview for Buzzfeed, the actor discussed his rituals in preparation for voicing Buzz Lightyear in the latest Pixar animation. Pretty soon, the 41-year-old became distracted by the plethora of adorable pups that were coming his way, which meant he became vulnerable to a nip on the crown jewels. While he kicked back and relaxed in the room full of tiny dogs, one little fella burrowed his way between Evans’...
