There was a shuttle launching facility at Vandenberg, SLC 6. Apparently after the Challenger disaster they scrapped it due to safety issues and politics. They’ve modified it and today it’s used for the Delta IV launches.
I’m about 20 miles from Vandenberg. We were all surprised at work as there were no windows rattling or ground shaking when the rocket was launched today, unlike the launch in January 2011.
I installed Turbo Tax and checked “show me all options”. Fortunately I haven’t gotten into it yet so it’ll be easy to uninstall and reinstall checking the “show no options” box.
Journey Home is such an inspiring series. The converts and reverts typically have interesting stories to tell. I especially enjoy the one on one programs, and usually do not make it through an entire Roundtable.
I noticed the flags in my area, central coast of California, were at half mast also today. We had a long time mayor pass away last week, so I assumed that was the reason. But now, I wonder. Is it just a coincidence? Hmmm....
I'm hoping the shocker isn't Elliott going home. I used the second line and got only 2 busy signals in 15 minutes. I am trying to prepare myself for the possiblilty. He certainly does not deserve to go before Paris or Kelly.
"I'm glad he's not going home! I tried calling for him the other night and his line stayed busy. I never got through."
I've been voting for Elliott for 4 weeks. I'm on the west coast and the last two weeks I had no trouble getting through to vote for him. I vote for about 10-15 minutes when the show ends and there were only a couple of busy signals both weeks. I knew he would be in the bottom three.
West Coast people that like Elliott need to be sure to vote!
Thank you for posting the sermon from Friday's Mass. What beautiful words! It gives me hope that some good may come out of the horrific events of a year ago.
