Bump this, and show your love, support, and prayers to the Swift Boat Veterans who are taking a ton of heat to stand as witness against a dangerous man. I've read and seen enough to believe them! They are doing the RIGHT THING! And you can bet at least some of them are Freepers! GOD BLESS YOU! -- Joe

My pedetrician has just recommended that my 10 year old boy use Ritalin. The issue of Attention Deficit Disorder has come up every so often throughout most of his life, but this is the first time our pediatrician says it's time to try medication. What questions should I be asking? What do I need to find out? Any good resources? Thanks, -- Joe P.S. My wife is in a hurry to do this, now that the doctor says so. I'm not.... my wife and I had some strong disagreement about this last night ;) When I ask around, it seems...

BOSTON--Amid the star-studded parties being held here during the Democratic Convention was one that's about as far off the A-list as it's possible to get: a dinner hosted Monday by a fledgling nonprofit advocacy group called Democrats for Life. Need one say it was an intimate affair? Even Republicans were better represented in Boston last week than Democrats who oppose abortion.

I'm a big Dick Cheney fan, and fully support the man staying my vice-president. I can't say I've read most of the current 'dump Cheney' articles, but I can say most of what I have read makes me say, 'so what'? Dick Cheney no doubt handles responsibility better than 99% of the people on the planet. And he can be trusted in the most extreme circumstances to make the right call for this country. Let's imagine the worst: a terrorist attack takes out the President, as well as thousands more Americans. And it severely cripples the US economy. Who are...

Maybe I'm just too impatient, but I haven't seen a reliable transcript of Whoopi's remarks at the recent Kerry fundraiser. There were thousands of people there. Surely someone has pieced this together. Anyone find a good transcript, or something close? Thanks, -- Joe

Bump if you think it's time to stand up, be counted, write your congresspersons, and demand the right to marry more than one woman! Why not? Maybe the current Mrs. Joe Republc would appreciate some help around the house. Again, why not? After all.... - It doesn't HURT anyone. - It only affects what happens in the bedroom. - It's a PRIVATE matter. - Only narrow-minded Christians have insisted on this in the past. - We are broad-minded and advanced enough as a culture to handle this. Forget the lessons of the past. In fact, don't even look at tradition....

Attendees of a national conference for abortion providers watched and listened with rapt attention as the inventor of the partial-birth abortion procedure narrated a video of the grisly procedure – and then burst into applause when the procedure was over and the unborn child destroyed! The disturbing and eye-opening event, featuring abortion doctor Martin Haskell addressing members of the National Abortion Federation, was captured on audiotape. Calmly and dispassionately describing each step of the process – up to and including the insertion of the scissors into the base of the baby's head, followed by the sound of the suction machine...

I wish Drudge would stop it. Enough already. I haven't watched Fox News lately, but if they're doing it still as well, stop it. Enough already. Bump if you agree. -- Joe

A Little Too Much Reality TV Televising an Abortion BreakPoint with Charles Colson April 22, 2004 How’s this for “reality TV ”? Tuesday night a British network televised an abortion. In a documentary titled “My Foetus,” England’s Channel 4 showed a London doctor using the “vacuum pump” method on a woman who was four weeks pregnant—then placing the aborted fetus on a Petri dish. The documentary also displayed fetuses terminated at 10 through 21 weeks—when limbs and a face are clearly visible. What’s behind something so grotesque? For one thing, it’s Western culture’s jadedness. What shocked us yesterday has become...

Everytime I read the press using the term ‘so-called’, a big red flag immediately goes up in my mind. The most common use of the ‘so-called’ adjective by the so-called journalists is “so-called” partial-birth abortion. Why do they use it? Under the guise of objectivity, it’s their snide little way of letting everyone know that people deemed to be morally or culturally inferior refer to something by that particular terminology. Partial-birth abortion demands the ‘so-called’ adjective, because the term started in the pro-life crowd. And leaving the word ‘birth’ without ‘so-called’ exposes the humanity of the child and the real...

I've been seeing ads for Matt Furey's Combat Conditioning. The idea of stength and stamina exercises *without* weights really interests me. Anyone recommendations from Freepers? Someone was telling me to check out Pilates, but that doesn't really seem to be about strength. Furey's stuff looks interesting, but it bothers me that no one on amazon.com has reviewed it. Thanks, -- Joe

...Take for instance Philip Pullman’s trilogy His Dark Materials, which will soon become a movie series. Pullman’s books are enormously popular with children and adults alike for their appealing central characters, imaginative touches, and thrilling adventures. The movie adaptations will no doubt attract a loyal following as well. That’s a disturbing thought, because one of the major themes in His Dark Materials is the foolishness and wickedness of Christianity and the need to get rid of it. The characters essentially re-enact the story of Satan’s rebellion against God and the temptation in the Garden of Eden. But this time, the...

3/11 happened 911 days after 9/11 TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ SATURDAY, MARCH 13, 2004 12:54:03 AM ] NEW DELHI: Put it down to freak coincidence or the subtle imprimatur of al-Qaeda, but the devastating bomb blasts which shook Madrid on Thursday came exactly 911 days after the 9/11 terrorist strikes on the World Trade Centre. As the death toll from Thursday's outrages rose to 199, the Spanish authorities said they were still probing the possibility of the Basque separatist group ETA being involved. However, a London-based Arabic newspaper al-Quds al Arabiya said on Friday that it had received a letter from...

A brief comment: - I almost never see adoptions discussed in the current gay marriage debate. - Many people see no harm in same sex marriage - who gets hurt? - Common sense tells you kids need a committed Mom and Dad. The vast majority of objective social science studies confirm this. - The state must bear responsibility for placing kids in the best homes possible for kids. - There are many, many married couples on very long waiting lists for kids. - If and when we legalize same-sex 'marriages', adoption agencies will be pressed in the name of unfair...

Why Mel Owes One To The Jews February 12, 2004 By Rabbi Daniel Lapin President, Toward Tradition Two weeks before Mel Gibson's Passion flashes onto two thousand screens, online ticket merchants are reporting that up to half their total sales are for advance purchases for Passion. One Dallas multiplex has reserved all twenty of its screens for The Passion. I am neither a prophet nor a movie critic. I am merely an Orthodox rabbi using ancient Jewish wisdom to make three predictions about The Passion. One, Mel Gibson and Icon Productions will make a great deal of money. Those distributors...

I distinctly remember a few weeks ago someone on NPR saying with disdain that there was no way that a movie about Christ done in a couple of dead languages would attract much of an audience. Unfortunately, I don't recall enough to quote it. But there's PLENTY of critics who should be eating crow now about the Passion. Plenty of people who were DEAD WRONG about the impact and interest of this movie. Please post the best (or worst, I suppose) predictions about the Passion from those who wanted America to hate or ignore the real message of the Gospel....

The 'M-Word' Why It Matters To Me What's in a name? Perhaps the best answer is a memory. As a child, I had no idea what homosexuality was. I grew up in a traditional home - Catholic, conservative, middle class. Life was relatively simple: education, work, family. I was brought up to aim high in life, even though my parents hadn't gone to college. But one thing was instilled in me. What matters is not how far you go in life, how much money you make, how big a name you make for yourself. What really matters is family, and...

Two thumbs up for 'The Passion' February 22, 2004 Mel Gibson's controversial "The Passion of the Christ," which recounts the final hours in the life of Jesus, finally opens Wednesday, and the Sun-Times' own Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper offered an exclusive early review of the movie on their syndicated series "Ebert & Roeper" this weekend. Giving "Passion" their trademark stamp of approval of "two thumbs way up," Ebert and Roeper called it "a great film." "It's the only religious movie I've seen, with the exception of 'The Gospel According to St. Matthew' by [Italian director Pier Paolo] Pasolini, that...

I can just see it coming, now that Ralph Nader is running. It's almost a sure thing that he will be for same-sex marriages, and will chide Democratic candidates for not being clearly and forcefully pro-gay marriage as well. YYYYYEEEEESSSSSSSS! I read that even Sen Boxer of California is flinching away from supporting same-sex marriage, saying the California law is "fair". The people don't want gay marriage, the Dems don't want this now, and the hard core liberals, including many from colleges who don't care about reality as much anyway, will go with Nader. Anyway, there is a bright side...
