After two weeks of people advocating for big-government, bottom-up philosophies vs. free market, small businesses, and ideas of how to grow our economy out of this mess, the halls have died down. The delegates have returned home. God has been voted down. The unborn child has been prayed for at the conclusion of both conventions. Assertions of freedom of choice have been made on everything from sex to guns. Distinct ideas have been put forth about economic improvement as well as America's role in the world, and one side has even carefully examined the number of times the other specifically...

The filmmaker’s Q & A following the screening was also very telling. Their primary motivation for making this apolitical movie about the life of Navy Seals was primarily to pay honor and tribute to the sacrifice these extraordinary individuals make in order for all the rest of us to walk around free. The liberals in attendance gave the film the same standing ovation I did, because they were drawn into an intense story line that did not choose partisan sides. That’s not to say that liberals who haven’t seen the film aren’t making a partisan issue of it.

When 200 hispanic students skipped school last week and marched through downtown Morgan Hill, California chanting "Si se puede" intermixed with "We want respect," none were banned from school attendance on their return. When five students, one of them an American from latino roots, wore American flags to school as a sign of patriotic speech, they were labeled incendiary.
