I read somewhere years ago that while the voter gets to choose their party's presidential candidate; they don't get to choose their running mate. The national committees choose the running mate. Does anybody here know anything about that?

I have an observation and a question. I don't remember the dims or anyone else having such a cow over Gorsuch. What is the deal with Kavannaugh? Just curious.

Sitting here browsing FR with my cat and getting somewhat blotto over the depressing election results. This is indeed a dark day in America. I never thought I would live to see the day that my country would willingly embrace socialism.

I was just over at Townhall and was reading an article by Bill O'Reilly in which he said Bush '43 was a conservative. My question is; since when. Bush was never a conservative that I could see. JMHO

I have heard over the years that the Smoot-Hawley Tariff was a huge mistake that helped caused the crash of '29 and resulting depression.
