I have a question. Can anyone tell the difference between the National Security Agency and the National Security Council?
I would really appreciate it. thank you.
I believe the NSA is an actual agency with thousands of employees, where the National Security Council is a team put together by the sitting President...
Look at the patch on the uniforms. One of them ends in “A” and the other ends in “C” - that’s how to tell them apart.
One reads your email, and the other talks about reading your email.
Try this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Security_Agency
It’s as good a start as anywhere else, including any opinions you’ll get here.
There’s a *big* difference.
The National Security Agency is an ENORMOUS electronic intelligence gathering and cryptologic analysis organization operating out of Fort Meade, Maryland,, whereas the National Security Council is a small group of foreign and defense policy experts appointed by the President to collectively advise him on National defense matters.
Yup. NSA has a big office building in Maryland intercepting everything with lots of computers and listening posts all over the world. It is probably infested with muslims now post Nov 2008.
Actually, that's funny *and* not far from the truth.
LOL! Excellent!
LOL...I was watching “Fantastic Voyage” (1968) the other night, and I had to get a kick out of the patches worn by the generals in charge of the top secret government agency...but I can’t find the name of the agency. The letters were C, D, B, A probably something something biological agency...
LOL..not bad...not bad!
NSA is a large agency located on Fort Meade, MD. Its function is to intercept messages from friends and adversaries. The messages are decoded and intelligence extracted and disseminated.
The National Security Council is a group or advisors to the President in the White House
Hope this helps.
One is a council of a few people who answer directly the President on National Security.
One is an agency of thousands, and I think it does cryptology and interception of intelligence from our enemies. Fun stuff like that.
Here is the NSA at Ft. Meade Maryland:

NSA Employees even have their own exit off of 295, and don’t ever take that by mistake because you’ll get pulled out of your car, searched, while dogs sniff your car.
FACT.

:)
It does. Thank you very much.
NSA is one of the entities that gathers intelligence from around the globe via many tenticles, both military and civilian.
To the best of my knowledge, the NSC is a group of overpaid drunks who get together occasionally and complain that conservative hayseed voters might be a danger to the country.
IMHO FWIW
Yes. But then I’d have to kill you.
It was CMDF in the book.
iINTIALY Armed Forces Security Agency (AFSA) was during WWII and in 1948 I believe renamed Nationa Security Agency. They worked with Naval Security Group, Air Force Security Agency and Army Security Agency whom were involved in their own field of endeavor. NSA is responsible for our cypto systems design, foreign intercept communications and code analysis.
The are part of the intelligent agencies protecting us from foreign threats and include CIA, DIA, NRO with all briefing both houses of congress at least every three months. Congressional committees are the watch dog of these agencies not the President.
