• Europe Forsakes Christianity for Islam?

CBN.com – Welcome to post-Christian Europe, a land filled with beautiful monuments to an ancient religion that few Europeans practice anymore or know much about. While Christianity is still very relevant in the United States, and is exploding in the developing world, Europe today has sunk below unbelief, and is now labeled "Christophobic" and "anti-religious." While an American might look at a church building and think nice thoughts, that's rarely the case with a European, especially here in France, where religion is more likely to be associated with oppression, irrelevance, or simply the past. In France, as in much of...

A look at how liberal cultural elites gave "blockbuster" stature to a perverse movie -- Brokeback Mountain -- and what they hoped to accomplish. John Wayne and Gary Cooper must be spinning in their graves. Liberal as Hollywood is, they never would have thought the industry they loved would put out a movie in which the protagonists are cowboys who give the term "rough riders" a new, blue meaning. But alas, Tinseltown has obliged with Brokeback Mountain. Based on Annie Proulx's short story for The New Yorker, it is the tale of two sodomite sheepherders, Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger)...

In this Palestinian village, the Akhras clan mourned 17 relatives killed by a suicide bomber in Jordan — the first time Palestinians have been a target in a suicide attack. "Oh my God, oh my God. Is it possible that Arabs are killing Arabs, Muslims killing Muslims?" asked a weeping Najah Akhras, 35, who lost two nieces. Similar thoughts were heard over and over in the West Bank and Gaza Strip on Thursday, as Palestinians expressed outrage over suicide attacks aimed at civilians. The bombings at three hotels in Amman on Wednesday night killed at least 56 people, including 27...
• French Riots Kick Off the The Season of Jihad?

The worldwide Islamic jihad has begun. The riots in France are not isolated incidents of “disenfranchised Muslim youths”. They are being organized and coordinated by adults. Shortly after the rioting began, French police discovered at least one warehouse facility that contained bomb making ingredients, Molotov cocktails, black masks to hide behind, motorcycles and cell phones. This “insurgency”, or more appropriately—terrorism—was planned. The Islamic mayhem in France and Denmark, and now the beginnings of the same chaos in Germany and Belgium, are neither unexpected nor are they coincidences. On 31 October, in Denmark’s Jyllands-Posten, it was reported that riots in Denmark...
• Hillsdale College

Good morning folks. I know no other place to go than to freerepublic to get what I hope is an honest assessment about Hillsdale College. Last November, my sister first found about Hillsdale College, a conservative liberal arts college located in Michigan. She likes many aspects of the college including the fact that they do not accept federal funding. Her senior high school daughter applied for admission and was accepted for next fall. Recently, however, she was talking with a colleague and learned about a sex-suicide scandal that involved the president and his daughter-law. Apparently this affair was uncovered in...
• Kerry Wins 90% of the Vote in Washington, D.C.

So, what else is new? DC is a one-party city and will be forever. The Republican Party in actuality is Democrat Party No. 2. The city is 65% African-American. As usual, they voted true to form.
• My Father's Name is Still on Voter Rolls, Only Problem is. . .

. . . my father died in September, 1995. When my mom and I voted this morning, we noticed that his name is still on the roll. My mom told the poll folks that she has alerted the Election Board here in Washington, D.C several times that my father died in 1995, and that they should delete his name from the voting rolls. They apparently have not done so. Also, we are not asked for any identification when voting. So, what would stop anyone from voting in my father's place? I called in to the Michael Graham Show this morning...

• Hilary Clinton is Not Eligible to Run for President in 2008

09/12/2004 11:20:48 AM PDT · by itsinthebag · 40 replies · 2,377+ views
Since Lt. Kerry and the MSM consider military service to be a requirement to run for President, we don't have to worry about Hilary since she's never served . . . or has she? Perhaps someone has pictures.

. . . about our country's porous borders. I read on a FreeRepublic thread earlier this week about a possible muslim terrorist army forming here in the states. Also, yesterday I heard a caller on the Steven Malzberg show say that there are hundreds of terrorists crossing our borders, especially via Mexico. In light of the current Islamic terrorist incident in Chechnya, I'm rather nervous. If there is in fact a large group of muslim terrorists in our country right now, what could possibly stop them from staging a similar scenario at anyone of our schools just days before the...

• Kerry's "Vietnam duty" consisted of 1 month of training at a French tourist town in South Vietnam

08/21/2004 6:22:02 AM PDT · by itsinthebag · 52 replies · 1,468+ views
I read about this in "Unfit for Command", page 27. It says: "On November 17, 1968, Kerry arrived in Vietnam and reported for duty to Coastal Squadron One, Costal Division 14, at Cam Ranh Bay in South Vietnam. Cam Rahn, a French tourist town with a well-protected deep-water harbor and wide, beautiful white beaches, was generally regarded as the safest place in Vietnam. Kerry spent one month if his four-month Vietnam tour training at Cam Ranh Bay." Kerry actually saw only 3 months of so-called "combat". Okay fellow-freepers, have fun with this one!

I just heard on the radio news that Sandy Berger has been cleared of any wrongdoing. Apparently the National Archives is saying that all documents have been accounted for. Has anyone else heard this? And no, this should not be posted under humor! I'm serious, I really did hear this on the morning news just now. WMAL 6:30 here in Washington, D.C., the Fred Gandy Show.

I'm listening to the Rush Limbaugh show here at work, and during a commerical break, the news reported that Michael Jackson will be the father of either triplets or quads. The mother is reportedly a fan from Florida who wrote to him. Okay freepers, have fun with this one!
