According to Qwest, and CNet, Code Red II does NOT, as previously reported, only affect Windows 2000 and NT servers. Instead, it exploits a vulnerability in Cisco 600 series modems, causing them to stop forwarding traffic. The affect is to cut off internet access for huge numbers of internet users. The temporary fix is easy: unplug your DSL modem from the electrical outlet, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in.
