I began my day around 8 a.m. at the rally/protest between the Washington Monument and the Ellipse, in a sea of flags and people. The crowd most definitely looked like America, and I was struck by how incredibly many women were there. There were also black faces and absolutely scores of Asians. Judging from their signs and flags a large number of these were Chinese and Vietnamese Americans, who have a much fresher and more personal impression of communism than the rest of us. At least one other account I have read describes a feeling of menace in the air....
  • Say it loudly, proudly: The United States is a Christian Nation

Are you fed up with being told America is NOT a Christian Nation? Here at the Christian Action Network, we are too. So we're putting together a documentary film that will shame the critics, embarrass the naysayers, and leave revisionist historians speechless. Yes President Obama! America is, always has been and will forever remain A Christian Nation! The truth can be found in our short documentary film called: The United States: A Christian Nation. It's almost complete, but we need a few more dollars to finish the editing, polish the graphics and get it distributed to schools, libraries and churches....

An arson fire breaks out at a Houston mosque on Christmas 2015. A Fresno, Calif. Islamic Center is vandalized extensively in 2014, also on Christmas, in what local police initially call a “hate crime.” A 20-year-old Middle Eastern woman is slashed across the face and called a “'f***ing terrorist” near Wall Street in New York City just last month. In Dearborn, Mich. in 2014, several Qurans are burned in front of a mosque. In Arlington, Texas, a Muslim student says she was followed, harassed, and eventually threatened with a gun by men in a large pickup truck sporting Texas flags....
  • Reject President Obama’s Supreme Court Nominee (petition)

The sudden death of conservative Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has added new, crisis-level urgency to an already tense presidential race. Almost as quickly as he announced that he will not attend Justice Scalia's funeral, Obama declared that he will, as a lame-duck president, nominate Scalia's replacement. If his appointments of justices Elena Kagan and Sonya Sotomayor are any guide, he will base his appointment on gender, ethnicity, and most of all on dependable liberalism. Obama's nominee is highly unlikely to be a supporter of free speech, free markets, religious freedom, gun rights, strict interpretation of the U.S. Constitution, family...
  • Nike frowns on discrimination, but doesn't see its own (Pacquiao)

Giant corporations like Nike can campaign all they want for homosexual frolicking and “marriage,” but can they please stop saying they are doing this in the name of “diversity” and opposition to “discrimination of any kind”? Because this week, Nike flatly rejected a famous spokesman’s diversity and and committed discrimination of the most blind and ignorant kind — the kind that doesn’t even know it’s being discriminatory. Filipino star boxer and politician Manny Pacquiao recently appeared in a video interview on TV5, a network in the Philippines, and commented on homosexual marriage. He said: “It’s common sense. Do you see...
  • Clinton and Cologne: Proof of the left’s brutal exploitation of women

Given the media adoration and image-protection Bill Clinton has enjoyed over the years, everything that’s become public about his personal behavior is probably … well, the nice version. That’s right: The Bill Clinton whom the right loves to attack and the left jumps to faithfully defend — that’s the cleaned up version of Bill. In light of that fact, a milestone passed quietly earlier this month. A prominent Democrat stated publicly that former President Bill Clinton’s behavior toward women is “totally, totally, totally disgraceful and unacceptable.” What?!?! The stunned media just sort of had to go with it. They couldn’t...
  • Rep. Don Beyer: LESS bothered by Muslim atrocities than by how Americans respond to them

He’s a hypocrite. No, this is not name-calling. It’s not hateful rhetoric. It’s just the plain truth. Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) has introduced H. Res. 569, a foolish piece of legislation condemning “hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States.” The legislation already has 105 co-sponsors, all Democrats, with more supporters jumping in every day. Rep. Beyer, who was a car dealer before entering Congress in 2015, submitted the resolution on Dec. 17, just over two weeks after a Muslim couple – in the name of Islam – wounded 22 people and killed 14 innocent souls in San Bernardino, Calif....

House Democrats have moved to clamp down on a wave of anti-Muslim sentiment and crime in the United States that they concede — in the very text of their own resolution — does not actually exist. ......... Apart from the obvious dangers of U.S. lawmakers moving to demonize Americans for the things they say, the resolution goes on to confusingly cancel itself out in terms of simple logic. After declaring the importance of Muslims to the U.S. culture and economy, and that “hate speech” goes against “the Nation’s founding principles,” and that women in hijabs and headscarves are being “targeted,”...

A recent story from The Houston Chronicle goes into great detail about how Muslims in that Texas city are “on edge” after bloody, high-profile terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif. They’re afraid someone might attack or hurt them, for crimes they didn’t commit. They worry that angry people will target them for things they didn’t do. My initial reaction? WELCOME TO THE CLUB. Excuse the caps, but it needs to be said loudly. Welcome to the legions of peaceful people in the world who are feeling exactly the same way you do, today, at the start of 2016....
  • Trump's ultimatum could be the ultimate good deal

Donald Trump is not bigoted, he’s not racist, and he’s not (here’s an old favorite) acting like Hitler. Donald Trump is a dealmaker, and what he did this week was epic. He offered a solution to Islamic terrorism. It’s not a complete solution, but it’s a workable one. He did it the way a dealmaker does. When Trump talks about banning Muslims from entering the United States, it is not a short-sighted, knee-jerk ban for all eternity. Dealmakers don’t work that way, because the real world doesn’t work that way. It is only a ban for now. Until certain conditions...
  • 74 years after Pearl Harbor, a new attack keeps unfolding

So, it's Pearl Harbor Day. You know what that is, right? It's when we commemorate how Americans forced non-white American people into camps, after irrational mass paranoia that drove white people into hysterical rage against people who didn't look like us. Of course it was all caused by a militaristic country on the other side of the Pacific, which decided it needed to take out the U.S. Pacific Fleet if it wanted to continue growing its empire. Their early-morning air attack destroyed many naval vessels and an airfield, killed nearly 2,400 U.S. servicemen, and woke Americans up to a whole...
  • Is it really 'unchristian' to resist forced settlement of refugees?

Let us share a trend from Christian Action Network’s Facebook page, where supporters “Like” the things we do and haters bombard us with profanity and/or insults. When we announced our recent petition drive to keep Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe from settling Syrian refugees in our home state (it’s still open; sign it here), the negative reactions all had a similar tone: that we are “unchristian” for opposing a huge, hasty and very political importation of strangers into our midst from a region known for terrorism and extremist violence. Here are some choice examples: How Christian of you.. WWJTA? (Who would...
  • Petition to keep Syrian refugees out of Virginia

Gov. Terry McAuliffe has stated that Virginia would not be among the growing number of U.S. states seeking to block Syrian refugees, despite calls from Republicans for the state to close its doors as a security precaution following the November 13th terrorist attacks in Paris. More than two dozen governors, most of them Republican, said they would attempt to block the settlement of Syrian refugees in their states after the attacks in France, believed to be the work of the Islamic State, that killed nearly 130 people and left hundreds more wounded. The United States does not have the ability...

The cowbird (in America) and the cuckoo (in Europe) both have a sneaky way of carrying on their species. Both birds are called brood parasites. The mother bird and her mate build no nest, but instead lay their eggs in the nest of some other bird species. Very often, the host bird never quite gets what has happened. She raises a big cuckoo or cowbird baby that will even push her real chicks out of the nest. It’s automatically hard to accept that such criminal, unfair behavior should be allowed to occur in nature. One can’t help but have a...

The video was even more heartbreaking than most coming out of Syria. Posted on the mirror.uk newspaper web site, it claims to show a young fighter leaving on his final, suicidal mission against the forces of President Bashar al-Assad in the town of Fua, Syria. There is no date on the video, but Fua has been the scene of intense fighting for the past few months. He climbs into a Soviet-era armored personnel carrier, probably captured from government forces, which the news story describes as “packed with explosives.” Men are all around him, offering encouragement, taking video with their phones,...

At one point in Laura Hillenbrand’s World War II book Unbroken, the top turret gunner of a B-24 bomber over the Pacific stays doggedly at his post and keeps on firing, trying to ward off an attacking Japanese fighter plane. Eventually he succeeds. Staying focused on saving the lives of one’s comrades under such terrifying conditions is admirable enough. Stanley Pillsbury did it after one of his feet had been practically blown off by a cannon shell from the enemy aircraft. When they got his boot off after the engagement, his foot was shredded. His big toe stayed inside the...
  • Saudi Arabia says: Butt out. Stay out. Keep out. Got it?

That’s the message from Saudi Arabia. Do not meddle in their internal affairs. If they want to lop off heads, leave them alone. If they want to flog their apostates, what’s that to you? And if they want to shred the hands of people reading the Bible, at least they’re not your hands. So shut up. Canadian officials heard that message loudly when they decided to criticize Saudi Arabia for torturing a blogger, Raif Badawi, with 1,000 lashes for criticizing the kingdom’s religious clerics. The Saudi ambassador told Canada’s National Assembly that his country “does not accept any form of...

The phrase “anti-immigrant” is loose in media land, being used to describe politicians and everyday Americans alike. How can anyone be “anti-immigrant?” Immigrants are hard workers! We are a nation of immigrants! The phrase is used recklessly by the New York Times, U.S. News and of course MSNBC, as well as many others. Never mind that there is a huge difference between immigration and illegal immigration. That’s a difference as profound as renters versus squatters, or even customers versus burglars. To be anti-illegal-immigration is NOT the same as to be anti-immigration. Yet the phrases are being used interchangeably in the...
  • S.C. county commission: No more prayers allowed since controversy over Muslim invocation

Out of concern for religious freedom … one county in North Carolina has banned all prayers. You read that right: In Lincoln County, N.C., religious freedom now translates to nobody having the freedom to pray out loud at the opening of a meeting. It all went down thanks to a local Muslim activist who arrived to play the part of the victim, and thanks to a group of elected commissioners who granted that victim status and agreed to abridge everyone’s rights. Until recently, Christian prayers had been said at Lincoln County Commission meetings to focus board members on their duties,...

The June 26 Supreme Court ruling is being hailed as a victory for inclusivity, tolerance and love. It is also being described as a long-sought destination — a place where the soldiers of “marriage equality” could rest and savor their hard-won gold star of normalcy. It is already proving to be neither of these things. The soldiers aren’t resting. They’re reaching for more. Not more equality and normality, mind you, but more destruction and desecration of cultural institutions they blame for their unhappiness. The U.S. military is an enormous cultural institution that has been under relentless attack recently, and now...
