First, please forgive the inconsiderate way I phrased my initial inquiry--it was thoughtless, and I offer no excuse. My God, especially through Ephesians 4:29, and my wife, through those same 44 years, have trained me to do better than that.

My threads' response counts are a matter of complete indifference to me, because I conduct this series not for the crowd but for my Lord; my job is to deliver to Him the loaves and fishes, but it is then His responsibility to deliver them to whomever He wishes. So, if you were making sport of me by alluding to them, you didn't score there.

I have refrained altogether from commenting on the pictures you have posted because you, not they, are my first and only priority while this discord and lack of rapport between us exists. Pictures are utterly unimportant to me compared to your value.

All I wanted to know by my inquiry was, "What are you meaning? What connection are you making between Sodom and Gomorrah and the minor prophets?" I was respecting you by trying to understand your meaning, which was not obvious.

You could, and in my opinion should, have forestalled all of this by simply accompanying your original post by indicating something to the effect that: "Regarding your earlier link to Sodom and Gomorrah...." Common courtesy requires that much, instead of making a monkey out of me by making me guess.

I "referred to Sodom and Gomorrah" in my post only by including a link to my thread covering it along with 225 other links. That's not a reference, it's a footnote. Nowhere else on this thread did I or anyone mention or discuss them.

More to the point, this thread was wholly about the twelve minor prophets: that was the entire context. So, your post about S&G was out of that context, and it would have been courteous if you had simply explained why you included it. Now, I am "absurd" and unwelcoming, for innocently requesting clarification. I just wondered what your point was in posting about S&G on a post about the minor prophets: I was trying to understand you.

I do welcome comments about every aspect of Bible art; two days ago another poster responded on the Noah's Ark thread--not about that thread, but directly on it. That is another option for commenters.

When I began this series nine months ago I was a complete neophyte about everything associated with it. Not only did not not know how to post pictures, but also I had no idea how to find them, other than simply to ask a search engine. So, when I illustrated Sodom and Gomorrah (post #13, the one post to which I forgot to append a title!), I missed not only Martin's but also many other artists'.

Gradually since then, I have discovered (I just now counted) forty-one distinct sources. How I wish for the opportunity to go back and do justice to those early subjects, even as one wishes for the chance to replay one's youth! Alas, and Hallelujah!, instead the entire New Testament stretches now before me.

Zappa, being an Angeleno, often brought the Mothers to the Shrine.

Saw them do Inagaddadavida live ~'67 in LA's Shrine Exposition Hall, abutting the Shrine Auditorium where they've held the Oscars several times. There were no seats, just a wooden floor; when you sat on it, you literally felt the bass and drums. Very enjoyable. (That's also where I ruined my hearing standing right next to Eric Clapton's 8' speaker when Cream headlined.)

Saw all the great bands there--ten-minute walk north from my dorm at USC. Still remember listening to my friend's radio while walking over there and hearing Good Vibrations for the first time--one of those events where you remember where you were.
