I posted this a year or 2 ago, and it had a pretty good response - what are your goals before you die? (Leave having a woman of every different race out, because who doesn't?). I'm always interested to see what other people want to do, because I will think, hey - that could be fun! So.... Mine are (in no order) Learn fluent Spanish. Visit Machu Picchu. Visit Russia. Skydive. Buy a Porsche. Finally learn the guitar. Have a farm. Be self employed. See the Pyramids.

EUROPE, near Africa -- Following the aircraft crash that killed virtually the entire political and military establishment of Poland yesterday, neighbouring Germany has offered to help the ex-communist nation during its hour of need by taking responsibility for the Polish government, army, legal system and administrative structure. The crash, which has been hailed by many as proof that flying around in ageing ex-Soviet Tupolevs is an unwise activity, claimed the lives of 97 people including President Lech Kaczynski. His death, while deemed tragic by other world leaders, is being celebrated by homosexuals throughout Poland and anyone who feels that a...

My contract will be up soon for my current phone. I have decided between 2 models - the Blackberry Storm or the iphone. I know the Storm had some initial problems, but from what I have read the lastest software release corrected them. I also like the iphone, but I would have to switch carriers for it. Does anyone currently own the Storm, and if so do they like it? How reliable is the iphone? From what I have read, the Storm screen has better resolution.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Pittsburgh Penguins are on their way back to the Stanley Cup Final. The Penguins completed a four-game sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday night with a 4-1 victory at the RBC Center. Ruslan Fedotenko, Maxime Talbot, Bill Guerin and Craig Adams scored for the Penguins, who outscored the Hurricanes 20-8 and dominated play for most of the four games. Even in Game 4, when the Hurricanes jumped in front on an early goal by Eric Staal and shut down Penguins star Evgeni Malkin, they couldn't find a way to win....

A week after Miley Cyrus addressed her photo flap, the singer continues to draw criticism from some in the Asian community – including Korean comedian Margaret Cho. Cyrus denied she was mocking Asians when a photograph of her pulling at the corners of her eyes surfaced on the Internet. "There are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces," Cyrus wrote on her official Web site. "Well, I'm sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!" In turn, Cho took to her blog on Wednesday to...

This was by far my favorite show. I really don't watch TV at all anymore except at break on work, but I would always go out of my way to catch up with "The Shield". Thoughts: When Mackey confesses to his crimes, hearing everything he's done at once is a real shocker. We have seen some of the things he has through the episodes, but he always has something "good" he does as well (like saving that priest from blackmail, getting that young gang banger into a juvi program, etc). But when we hear everything at once, it really hits...

Anyone having problems signing into hotmail? When I try to sign in, it redirects me to another page asking me to sign into Microsoft Live, then keeps returing to the MS Live signin screen.

There was a thread like this on another forum, and it was kinda fun. People were listing the things they would like to have accomplished in their lives, and there were some pretty neat ideas. Try to stay away from thinks like "Having sex with ten Chinese women" (cause after all, who doesn't want to do that).

OK - I've started running again (dropped a pant size too!) but here is the problem: I have a bad knee that gets inflamed if I train too hard too quickly. I have always gotten good advice here in the past, so I am wondering if there are any runners on here that can point my way to a good set of shoes that provides maximum shock protection. I am currently using Asics gels.

LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER: Dina Lohan says in the new Harper's Bazaar she's living the American dream, partying hearty like her daughter and getting to sip champagne in a limousine. -- Lindsay Lohan's mother compares her booze-addled daughter to Princess Diana, warning that if the paparazzi keep chasing the young actress, she'll end up dead, too. "Look at me," Dina Lohan said in the latest Harper's Bazaar, in which she talked about her daughter's run-ins with celebrity photographers. "Diana will happen again." The mom also worked hard to get across another message - that she's a superstar herself - as...

5 panelists call case 'politically motivated' With Dr. Cyril H. Wecht's lawyer looking on, five of the jurors in the famous pathologist's mistrial made a group media appearance yesterday and said they favored acquittal on most of the 41 counts brought by the government. On KDKA Radio and later at a meeting with other news organizations, the jurors said they were split 8-3 in favor of acquittal on 27 fraud counts. They said they were split 6-5 in favor of conviction on 14 other fraud and theft counts. The jurors also said they didn't think the government should retry Dr....

Wife cleared of murder ‘overwhelmed with emotion’ Freed widow fears prisons are full of other wrongly convicted people By Bob Considine TODAYShow.com contributor updated 9:45 a.m. ET, Tues., April. 22, 2008 Having been exonerated of charges she poisoned her Marine husband to death, Cynthia Sommer is out of prison and renewing bonds with her children. But in the back of her mind, Sommer cannot help but wonder how many other wrongly convicted people languish in America’s crowded prisons. “There are so many people who this happens to, and that’s scary,” Sommer told TODAY co-host Matt Lauer on Tuesday. “That’s a...

New York, NY, January 11, 2008 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today called on the United States Supreme Court to continue to allow states to protect their citizens' lives, liberty and property by regulating the purchase and possession of firearms. The League urged the Court to ensure that states retain the ability to keep guns out of the hands of "violent bigots." Glen S. Lewy, ADL National Chair, and Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement: This case is about allowing states to protect their citizens' lives, liberty and property by regulating the purchase and possession of...

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- The curse of No. 2 claimed another victim. West Virginia is out of the national title race. Ohio State is in. In a season defined by upsets, Pittsburgh came up with an enormous one, beating the second-ranked Mountaineers 13-9 Saturday night to throw another curveball at the BCS. A win away from playing for the national championship, the Mountaineers were expected to roll over rival Pittsburgh (5-7) on their way to New Orleans for the Bowl Championship Series title game.

‘No apologies’ over teen who hanged herself over failed romance, kin say The parents of a 13-year-old Missouri girl who hanged herself after a failed MySpace romance — later uncovered as a hoax — say they have yet to receive an apology from the family they blame for their daughter’s death. “They’ve absolutely offered no apologies,” Ron Meier told TODAY co-host Matt Lauer on Monday. “They sent us a letter in the mail, basically saying that they might feel a little bit of responsibility, but they don’t feel no guilt or remorse or anything for what they did.” Rather, said...

U.S. District Judge James M. Munley, in a much anticipated 206 page decision with national implications, also ruled that the ordinance violated the nation's Supremacy Clause, which acknowledges federal law as the supreme law of the land. "Whatever frustrations ... the city of Hazleton may feel about the current state of federal immigration enforcement, the nature of the political system in the United States prohibits the city from enacting ordinances that disrupt a carefully drawn federal statutory scheme," Munley wrote. The ordinance, which would have imposed heavy fines on landlords who rent to illegal immigrants and businesses that hire them,...

Who, in your opinion is or was the dirtiest player in the NHL? Looking at ESPN and hockey boards, names that stand out are Ulf "The Career Killer" Samuelsson, Claude "The Girl" Lemeuix, Gordie "Face Wash" Howe, Bobby "Ankle Slash" Clarke, and Dale "I didn't know the play was over" Hunter. Notably absent were people like Bob Probert, who was more of an enforcer or "goon", that a dirty player. Some also mentioned agressive players like Darius "The Giant Killer" Kaspiritus.

I'm trying to find the title of this movie, but I don't have much to go on. It's about a bare knuckle fighter. He was imprisoned in a South American jail, and won his freedom by defeating some neanderthal type prisoner. His sidekick was a black man who had a bad leg. It is a "B" movie, and it was out in the mid 90's, I think. If anyone has ever heard of this, or knows of a web site where I could search for this, please let me know. Thanks.

I'm sure someone here knows this. I've finally read "The Sea Wolf" (a great book, BTW) but was puzzled as to the cause of Larsen's sickness and eventual death. William Jose Farmer in his Riverworld series states that it was syphylis. Does anyone know for sure what London intended, or was it left to be unanswered?
