Cruz did come in 2nd. But that’s beside the point. My point was that McClintock, WITHOUT THE HELP OF THE PARTY LEADERS (LIKE ROHRABACHER), got the most votes of any Republican besides Arnold. With their support, I think McClintock could have beat Bustamante.
No doubt, Obama is an excellent speaker (though I’d put Governor Huckabee up against him any day) and this was a good speech about race. What I was looking for from Obamas speech had nothing to do with color of skin My interest was content of character Obamas character and why his judgment would lead him to associate himself so long-term and so intimately with a church that has advocated and even championed many comments that Obama now condemns. Obamas speech addressed none of this.
