...so much talking...

1) the people i know who went to catholic school were beaten by nuns. on the other hand, they were better educated, academically, maybe not socially.
2) there are very good, historically proven reason for the SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.
3) does anyone have any constructive ideas instead of name-calling and saying what's wrong with everything?

because i don't think that we all agree. in a public forum , like schools, we must compromise and find a common ground.
some things, like religion, are personal choices. probably the biggest differences i can think of are evolution vs. creationism and forms of sex eduacation and health. i can understand the dilema if your religion teaches something and your school teaches something else, what else do you think the "liberal" education system is teaching your children that you don't agree with?

r u a libertine or a republican? not that it matters, but i didn't attack YOU personally. I AM a parent. and unfortunately I know some parents who do let their children play video games with mature ratings, for example. IN MY OPINION this is irresponsible of them, and I have seen these children acting in ways which were inappropriate towards other children. Honestly I believe that playing video games, especially those with mature themes, is unhealthy for the developing child socially, behaviorally, and maybe for neurological development and learning as well. These kids seem to be constantly irritable and mean. I think there SHOULD be studies done on this and it should be talked about.
But I think it is more a social problem that we plug our children + ourselves into television sets, we eat and watch junk all day and then we are unhealthy, both parents have to work and still they're falling behind, we have no time for our families, our values and priorities are upside down. I do not support censorship but education and healthy choices.
I am aware of what my children watch. I like to think that those parents who are not, or who do not think it is important, might change their ways if they learned real facts about the damage it can do.

Hilary could never win over this entire country to be president, it's never going to happen, why are you so upset? in the meantime, why question her motives if she is initiating a program to study the effects of violence on television on children? isn't that something we all agree needs to be looked at?
