Again, A Double Anniversary TodayThree sonnets in honor of the occasion. On this day, October 9, 1975, I joined the Catholic Church. It was the 130th anniversary of John Henry Newman having joined the Catholic Church, October 9, 1845. 19 Let me be to Thee as the circling bird, Or bat with tender and air-crisping wings That shapes in half-light his departing rings, From both of whom a changeless note is heard. I have found my music in a common word, Trying each pleasurable throat that sings And every praisèd sequence of sweet strings, And know infallibly which I preferred....

Microcosm His home a speck in a vast Universe, He a mere atom on that tiny speck, Victim of countless evils that coerce And force him onward on a pathless track: And yet a being made to dominate O'er all things else by mind's controlling power: Spoilt favourite at once and sport of fate, Football of fortune, time's consummate flower! To him alone did Nature's self impart A spark of her divinest energy, With power to create a world of Art, And intellect to solve all mystery: So great and yet so little! blest and curst— Nature's most noble offspring—yet...

My two cents. .... I think the person responsible for this incredibly botched forgery must possess several qualities: (1) remarkable deviousness, (2) breathtaking amorality, (3) an intellectual facility for generating possibilities rather than probabilities, and (4) a lack of solid experience with typewriters and word processors by which to verify the possibilities generated by his imagination. Do these documents, therefore, demonstrate that James Carville can type? Let's now get to the heart of the matter. The story here is not Bush's TANG service. The story is not these documents. The story is not even forged memos. The story is ONE...

.... Dear Kedwards: In the past two years, this nation has freed another nation from three decades of murderous torture at the hands of a maniacal dictator. That nation is well on the way to a more democratic way of life, and the dictator is going into the dock. Somehow, you think that the Bush administration took our country into that war without a plan: the on-going results belie your judgement. Now comes news that your political opponent has gained considerably in the polls, and that your own staff has consequently been... adjusted. :-) Are these political developments (1) evidence...

Preliminary Report Almost ReadyWill blame poor coordination and rogue elements. New York City (DENS, Democratic Establishment News Service) April 22, 2005 — Anonymous sources reveal that a preliminary report may be forthcoming next week from the Kerry-Vietnam Debacle Investigatory Committee (KVDIC). Most of the blame, it is said, will be placed on poor coordination between two branches of The Democratic Establishment and on lawless, rogue elements outside its control. Rumors also continue to swirl that an historian is going to be fingered as a double agent. KVDIC was formed by The Democratic Establishment in the wake of the devastating attack...

DE FIDE is a non-profit association founded specifically to use every available means of Canon Law to defend the Faith and Church from Heresy. To accomplish its mission, DE FIDE initiates lawsuits in Ecclesiastical Court to protect the rights of the faithful and unbaptized. The Association consists of a consortium of premier Canon Law experts around the world who work in tandem to achieve this goal. On 14 June 2004 DE FIDE filed its first Libellus Litis (Bill of Complaint) in the Ecclesiastical Court of the Archdiocese of Boston. The Criminal Complaint alleges that United States Senator JOHN F. KERRY,...

Here are two documents in Reagan's own hand that have been published recently in books. The first, a radio broadcast; the second, a letter.... Here are some Reagan photos — not the ones you usually see.... Here are links to a few of Reagan's speeches; to some remarks by Lady Margaret Thatcher; to an essay by Reagan; and, to a debate with Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, with excerpt....
