It was his first PGA Tour victory since a sex scandal at the end of 2009 led to one of the greatest downfalls in sports. BAE finalizes merger with United Defense Friday June 24, 4:01 pm ET BAE Systems has completed its acquisition of United Defense Industries Inc., the company announced Friday. The British company is one of the world's largest aerospace and defense companies. The company announced its $4.2 billion merger plans in March. BAE Systems North American operations are headquartered in Arlington, Va. The merger brings BAE's presence in the United States to about 35,000 employees. United Defense (NYSE:UDI - News) employs about 1,450 employees in the Twin Cities.
