In October 2008 a new version of the U.S. citizenship test will be taken by all applicants. Could you pass it?
The questions are usually selected from a list of 100 samples that prospective citizens can look at ahead of the interview. Some are easy, some are not. We have picked some of the more difficult ones.

(Its like 1933, mixed with the Carter 70s, plus the books 1984 and Animal Farm, all at the same time.)

Didn’t look at the test. Did it ask “Who do we bow down to?”
To: Doe Eyes
I missed which was not one of the original states.

Could you pass the latest citizenship test? Vicariously, I just did. Good friend of mine (from Ethiopia) just recently took the test and passed. I helped him a little bit with his study, and read the test. He is ENORMOUSLY proud to now be an American.
Parenthetically- he's probably the most rigorously ethical person I've ever met. He's a good catch, and I'm pleased to call him a fellow American.

I missed 2, but only because I didn’t read one of the questions closely enough and because I changed my answer on one of them.

Could you pass the latest citizenship test? No. I wasn't born in Kenya.
To: Doe Eyes
Whoa!
100%
Anybody know where I can find a job that hasn't already been filled by someone who passed this test for real?
To: Doe Eyes
95% correct! Not bad, 9 years after taking the real test.

I made 95. I didn't know how many amendments there were to the Constitution, every thing else was correct.

Should've taken the test another day, or at least before I cracked the seal on that bottle of Bacardi.
