Shareholder value is no longer the main focus of some of America’s top business leaders. The Business Roundtable, a group of chief executive officers from major U.S. corporations, issued a statement Monday with a new definition of the “purpose of a corporation.” The re-imagined idea of a corporation drops the age-old notion that corporations function first and foremost to serve their shareholders and maximize profits. Rather, investing in employees, delivering value to customers, dealing ethically with suppliers and supporting outside communities are now at the forefront of American business goals, according to the statement....

The trajectory of the 2016 presidential race — which will result in a Hillary Clinton victory — remains largely unchanged from May, when Donald Trump and Clinton were in the process of wrapping up their nominations. But what has changed recently is Clinton’s likely winning margin. For many weeks, even months, I have believed that Clinton would defeat Trump by three to six points. If anything, that range now looks a bit low, with the Democratic nominee apparently headed for a more convincing victory, quite possibly in the four-to-eight-point range.

The mood in the Washington press corps is bleak, and deservedly so. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that, with a few exceptions, we were all tacitly or explicitly #WithHer, which has led to a certain anguish in the face of Donald Trump’s victory. Anybody else dying to see this movie? I encourage everyone who wants to get a glimpse of the courage and bravery of our special forces abroad to see this movie when it comes out on 1/18/02. Anyone watch Politically Incorrect last night? Is Mike Farrell an idiot or what? He's an actor so the odds are likely. Does he not know the difference between military law and U.S. law? He thinks we should hold Osama Yo Mama to U.S. constitutional law and legal process (innocent until proven guilty, etc. etc.). The guy made me want to puke. I am concerned that as time dilutes the shock that we all experienced on 9/11/01, support for the war on terrorism will begin to waver. More importantly, I know that the Democrats will eventually try to take advantage of this to criticize and undermine President Bush (don't let them fool you -- their #1 objective is still political gain).How do we prevent this? Recently, I had to listen to a Christian liberal give his views on U.S. retaliation. He basically stated that the U.S. has no right to retaliate because nobody keeps the U.S. accountable for its own "sins" and that Christians should be pacifists. He also says the U.S. supports countries such as Saudi Arabia that oppresses its citizens and that the U.S. also supports the oppression of Palestinians! He says Jesus would not approve of the U.S. retaliating.Any comments?

Maybe a Jewish Freeper can help me understand this... Why is there a Mosque on the Temple Mount? As a Christian, I have always heard that the Ark of the Covenant used to be located on the Temple Mount (in King Solomon's temple?) and that the rock that Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac on is on the Temple Mount. Excuse my ignorance, but why doesn't Israel make it priority number one to retake the Temple Mount? It is holy to us Christians too!!! Thanks for any insight on this basic question that I don't know the answer to.
