War preparations are reported by debkafile's military sources in Tehran and Damascus, debkafile's military sources report. In Tehran, Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced Friday, Aug. 20: "IRGC is in full readiness to encounter firmly with the stupidity of the US and the Zionist regime." In Damascus, Syrian prime minister Naji al-Otari gathered his ministers and heads of security and emergency services Thursday and ordered them to place all their services on immediate war readiness. And sources close to the Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas quoted him as saying that direct talks with Israel were not in the offing because "a big...

Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund is pleased to endorse Christine O’Donnell for U.S. Senate in the September 14 Republican primary. Christine’s commitment to the right to keep and bear arms is unwavering. She understands that gun prohibitions turn law-abiding citizens into easier targets for violent criminals. Christine O’Donnell respects the Constitution and will not support any laws that will disarm law-abiding American citizens. The contrast between Christine and her opponent could not be clearer, as she is running against the most anti-gun Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Pay close attention, Delaware. Your Congressman, Mike Castle, just voted for the $26.1 billion union bailout. Castle was one of only two Republicans to vote yes on this bloated union pay off (the other was Louisiana's Cao). /snip/ Why the states needed this new money is hard to understand. They still have $30 billion in the last teachers bailout that has yet to be allocated. Well, maybe it isn't so hard to understand when you realize that unions will be the biggest recipient of this money and we are just ahead of an election. Now Democrats can tout their payoff...

He wasn't on the official agenda, but Rep. Mike Castle, R-DE, who is seeking the GOP nomination to succeed Joe Biden in the U.S. Senate, slipped quietly into a Republican meeting Monday evening, spoke a few minutes, then departed. That might not rate notice except for the fact Castle wants to be Delaware's next U.S. Senator, and the meeting was in Georgetown, a key city in Delaware's Sussex County, the most conservative of the Small Wonder State's trio of counties.

Why won't Congressman Castle debate Christine O'Donnell, as the two vie for the Republican nomination in Delaware's U.S. Senate race? Castle has never shied away from a debate in the past. The difference now? Castle tells WDEL he simply doesn't want to debate a fellow Republican. WDEL has made repeated requests of the Castle campaign to stage a GOP Senate debate. Castle said he hasn't completely ruled one out, but it's not likely.

Christine O’Donnell, a conservative activist, is challenging Rep. Mike Castle, the popular congressman and former governor, in Delaware’s Sept. 14 GOP Senate primary. You may recognize her from television. On her website, she details her media history: She has appeared on Hardball, The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity & Colmes, Politically Incorrect, and Entertainment Tonight, to name a few. Once, on CNN’s Crossfire, Democratic strategist James Carville called her “one hip woman.” O’Donnell, who was recently endorsed by the Tea Party Express, stopped by National Review this week to talk about her race:

A tiny knot of outliers -- eight Republicans -- left the House floor last summer facing threats of electoral ambush, "heartache" from constituents, and an online wanted poster declaring them turncoats. The challenges came. But the lawmakers are still around, more than a year after breaking ranks with 96 percent of their caucus to provide the deciding votes for a mega-bill that would make carbon dioxide a tradable commodity. They voted for cap and trade.

Good for Mark! Mark was taking aim at Byron York, among others, for being content with supporting the status quo. Mark pointed out Christine O’Donnell as an example of a must-win conservative who is being passed over by the so-called conservatives in the media. You want to save this country, then you cannot vote for Mike Castle. Mike Castle will be the most liberal Republican in the Senate and he will be more liberal than most Democrats. So, what will it be, conservative media? Is Mike Castle your guy? Mark Levin is right and you know it!

There's been a lot of talk about what Democrats will do if they lose seats in the House and Senate this November. Many Republicans believe Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will make a last-ditch, lame-duck effort to pass the remaining parts of their agenda, like tax increases, card check, and a climate change bill. And that's why Christine O'Donnell says the Senate race in Delaware is so important. The Delaware contest is not a regularly scheduled election but rather a special vote to fill the last four years of Vice President Biden's old term. That means the winner will be...

One of the biggest targets should the GOP regain control of either the U.S. House or Senate in November's elections, according to many polls, will be Obamacare, the president's plan that effectively nationalized the decision-making process for health-care issues. But a little-reported move to begin demolition of the health-care system takeover already is pending in the House and has gained about three-quarters of the support it needs to repeal the law that demands citizens buy insurance or pay financial penalties.

“Christine O’Donnell has established a reputation as a strong voice for conservative constitutionalists principles consistent with the ideals of the tea party movement,” said Amy Kremer, Chairman of the Tea Party Express and one of the founding activists of the modern tea party movement. and “We’re so excited to see the strength behind Christine O’Donnell’s campaign,” said Joe Wierzbicki, Coordinator for the Tea Party Express. “We long ago announced our intention to hold Mike Castle accountable for his failed record in Congress, and now we have an excellent shot to make sure he is defeated by a solid conservative candidate,”...

Since this is a special election, the winner of this race will be seated IMMEDIATELY. Not after the first of the year. Not early next year when the winners of the November elections are sworn in … and when it may be too late to stop the lame duck legislation. We’ve learned that NO politics are local anymore. The votes of the SC state senators from the low country still raise my taxes. The votes of the representatives from the state of Michigan still destroy my health care. So this election is one of those that we must win, and...

Throughout the 111th Congress, constituents have pressed Representatives and Senators for an explanation of where the Constitution grants them authority to pass legislation such as cap and trade and the Dodd-Frank Financial Overhaul bill. Instead of listening to the people, Members of Congress, including Speaker Pelosi (D-CA), glibly dismiss these requests with comments like, "[a]re you serious?" Well, thanks to the outcry from patriots at town hall meetings across the country, liberals are finally paying attention to these questions.

I was in Las Vegas over the weekend, and I joked with my friend Jim Hoft, St. Louis’ Gateway Pundit, calling him a “Cracka” during an interview. Jim gave a surprised laugh, evident my comment gave him no discomfort. Nevertheless, the blatant use of the term Cracker these days got me to thinking about Crackers in general. So I decided to perform a quick investigation. In my investigation, I was surprised at all I had not known about Crackers.

Christine O’Donnell is now gaining significant ground against liberal Republican Mike Castle in the special election to replace Joe Biden in 2010. Pay close attention to that last part there… “the special election to replace Joe Biden in 2010.” /snip/ Because the election to replace Joe Biden is a special election, the winner would be immediately seated./snip/ Mike Castle would almost certainly vote WITH the Democrats

“Mike Castle’s voting record proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he is for special interests, against the free market, anti-Second Amendment, pro-abortion and he’s even for sanctuary cities. It’s a preposterous record,” O’Donnell said. “Calling himself a Republican is borderline schizophrenic, confused about his own political identity.” “Mike Castle is the most liberal congressman in the Republican Party,”

Rep. Mike Castle (17 years in the House), who voted FOR the T.A.R.P., the Omnibus, Serve America Act, Credit Card Accountability Act, Cap and Trade, and the Fin Reg Reform Bill (among others). Considering Castle’s inability to vote for limited government like a true Republican (he votes with Obama 6 of 10 votes), there might actually be a bigger upset than Scott Brown’s resounding defeat of Martha Coakley rapidly approaching The First State when tea party endorsed Christine O’Donnell spanks Castle with the help of impoverished Delawareans and YOU – the rest of America.
