When my sister and I were 8 and 9 yrs old, our mother would send us to the Kwik Pik with $2 to get a $.35 pack of Salem Lights and a $.99 6 -pack of beer. Whatever was left, we could use for candy. It was about a half mile from home.

One of my husband’s former coworkers bought a townhome to rent out. A student in TN rented it, paid first, last month and sec deposit and then didn’t pay a penny more. She laughed at him and said she does it all the time, knows the law and he was stuck paying the mortgage until she was evicted. I think it took almost a year as she kept having the case continued. So, he struggled paying two mortgages at once while she lived high on the hog.

I would NEVER be a landlord.

There was an incident posted here years ago where a shoplifter, who had been banned from Walmart or Target, showed up again to steal and tried to make a getaway in her car. A policeman tried to stop her and she drove off with him clinging to her door. He killed her and someone here posted a question, asking why he couldn’t shoot a warning shot in the air.

Nice! I did get another company that was less than a third of my former company.

I even asked for the 60 days of interest they would be making holding onto my money to be refunded to me and they said no.

A company that rhymes with Smogressive raised my homeowners/wind and hail from $1462 to over $7000 in one year.

Not only that but they took the moneby from my escrow before I had a chance to be notified of the astronomical increase BUT since there was no overage in my escrow account, my MORTGAGE was increased WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE and my monthly payment went up EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS/month.

Of course, I immediately changed companies but Smogressive held onto my money for over 60 days until my policy expired.

I ended up getting my money back AFTER 60 days and got another company so my mortgage went down but I had to do a lot of footwork to unwind their crap.

Do NOT wait to find out how much your policy is going to increase so you can change before they are allowed to process your payment sixty days before the expiration of your policy.

I worked with a guy who saw Big Foot when he was 8 yrs old in NC. He and his brother were playing outside at his grandmother’s house. It was a very rural place with few people. He and his brother smelled something so strong and when they saw where the odor was coming from, it was an 8 ft-ish hairy creature walking away from them upright. He said people called it a skunk ape.
