Sometime this week, HR418 - Real ID Act of 2005 will be riding on a must pass spending bill to the Senate. One of the concerns of the bill is the requirement that states must join the Driver License Agreement (DLA) - PDF Document. The DLA will link the state DMV databases between all the US states & Territories, Canada and Mexico. The devil in the details is located on page 4, item 11 defining jurisdiction. What this means is your most personal information like Social Security Number will be available anywhere in North America including the corrupt Mexican cop....

I read this morning on Worldnet Daily a commentary that CBS News should move from NYC to one of the heartland states to where their people would be more "in touch" with the average "joe" instead of the Manhattan Liberals.
  • Lame duck session of Congress National ID through Driver's License

    11/17/2004 7:35:48 AM PST · by CORedneck · 13 replies · 836+ views
Our lame duck Congress is back in session, this is the time to be ever vigiliant. Bad legislation has a reputation for being passed in the waning hours. On of the pieces of bad legislation is a possible National ID card through your driver's license that is buried in the Intelligence Reform bill. This will not only cost a lot of money that can be better used for other security items such as bomb detection equipment. There is the privacy invasion aspect of this National ID. It requires the linking of databases between states through a AAMVA sponsored compact known...
  • Colorado Amendment 36 - Vote No ! Don't allow Colorado be californicated !

    10/18/2004 7:39:20 AM PDT · by CORedneck · 17 replies · 829+ views
Now that early voting is going on in Colorado, vote no on Amendment 36. It will split the electoral college votes between winner and loser. If the election was held today, President Bush would get 5 votes and John F'n Kerry would get 4 votes. It is sponsored by a wealthy California Executive J. Jorge Klor de Alva. If Jorge thinks this is such a good idea, why doesn't he do this in California. A lot of of us Colorado people do not appreciate outsiders especially from California and the East Coast coming in and meddle in our affairs. Like...
  • House 9/11 bill has NAFTAtional ID card!

The National ID car as being worked on in legislation in Congress is more of a "tri-national" ID for Canada, USA and Mexico. Is this one of the hidden items buried in the NAFTA agreement signed 10 years ago that is coming to fruition ? Work on the Driver License Agreement also started in 1994 as well. Coincidental ? This legislation needs to be stopped ! For more info, please see No National ID Blogger.
  • More on National ID

I saw a posting over in rec.autos.driving and it pointed to an article. (Registration might be required). It mentioned some things about a Federal Mandate that is in legislation in Congress that requires states must comply with the National ID provisions or else, a person holding a given driver's license will not be recognized when boarding a flight or dealing with other Federal Agencies. One of the provisions is the linking of databases through the Driver License Agreement (DLA). The provision was written by former Secretary of State of Michigan, Candice Miller. The MI SOS oversees motor vehicle administration. Here...

In the article from the Washington Times. The legislation moving through the Senate and House with provisions for a backdoor National ID card. From the article, "Opponents say, however, the House provision goes a step further and creates a tri-national identification card by requiring states to create and share databases among themselves and with Mexico and Canada." This is related to the Driver License Agreement as presented by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA). In the House Bill HR10, states will be REQUIRED to participate in the DLA. It is not optional but mandatory if the state wants...
  • National ID - Vote next week - US House HR10 - 9/11 Recommendation Implementation Act

    10/01/2004 1:51:13 PM PDT · by CORedneck · 23 replies · 722+ views
I talked to a staff person with the Gov't Reform Committee who works with Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA). They are planning on having a floor vote on HR10 next week. This bill would require driver's license conform to National ID standards and require states to join the new Driver License Agreement (DLA) which mandates points against your license for tickets received in a different state/Canada/Mexico. I also talked with a staff person with Rep. Ron Paul's office and it was mentioned that the House Leadership is very insistent this gets voted on and passed. Please call you congressman and voice...
  • National ID Legislation by US Congress - More Information

On the National ID, there are several pieces of legislation in the US House as well as the Senate. The worst is HR10 by Hastert and HR5148 by C. Miller. One of the items is it WILL REQUIRE states to join a compact sponsored by the American Assoc. of Motor Vehicle Aministrators (AAMVA - http://www.aamva.org). The compact is called the Driver License Agreement (DLA). It will require your state to assess a point penalty for a ticket you receive in a different US state/territory, Canada and Mexico. If states refuse to go along, drivers licenses issued by a non-complying state...
