Ok, we can't all be on the computer 24/7 logged on to FreeRepublic, although I'm sure some are, so who has the best tv coverage of the war? Like many of you I have been glued to the idiot box since Wednesday, and I have watch probably every channel covering the war, so without further delay here's the reviews. Fox News Channel- Overall good, but the graphics/chryons overload is very annoying. Decent to good reporting by shep Smith and Brit Hume but after 1am its on the decline. Though, I still like that they kept the fluttering US flag as...

I can't believe the best coverage for the is the Latino/Mexican station Univision. No fifty graphics on one screen, no crawl, they seem to have the first video on everything and are not afraid to show it.( they actually show the 9-11 WTC jumpers when it happened) FOX News need to get its act together. I swear to God half the screen is full of crap graphics. I don't give a sheeot about the Dow or the terror alert. ABC News comes in second.

Tenn. Senate Acts Against Porn in Cars Tue Mar 18, 8:48 AM ET NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Porn and driving don't mix — at least not in Tennessee. The state Senate has voted unanimously to ban X-rated videos from cars and other vehicles if the television screens can be seen from the street. Senator Mark Norris filed the legislation after getting a complaint from a constituent. The man said his daughters could see a sex tape being played in a van stopped at a red light. Many vehicles now have the option of being equipped with video players. But the measure...

Ashcroft's comments before the Senate Judiciary Committee represent an apparent reversal of Bush Administration policy as well as Ashcroft's prior statements before the committee. During his January 2001 confirmation hearing, U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) asked Ashcroft if he would...

Funny and scary ACLU: "The Union agrees with the Supreme Court's longstanding interpretation of the Second Amendment that the individual's right to keep and bear arms applies only to the preservation or efficiency of a 'well-regulated militia'. Except for lawful police and military purposes, the possession of weapons by individuals is not constitutionally protected." ACLU policy statement #47 (1986) President William J. Clinton: "We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans to legitimately own handguns and rifles...that we are unable to think about reality." USA Today, March 11, 1993 REP. McCOLLUM: Colin Ferguson--...

John Strauss Assault rifles offer a bit too much for home defense February 14, 2003 As store shelves throughout the city are emptied of duct tape and plastic sheeting by people concerned about terrorist attacks, other folks think the best defense is a good offense. Don Davis said gun sales at his Westside store have doubled since the latest terrorism alert. He said the $599 AK-47 is a top seller. Davis became locally famous a few years ago with endlessly repeated TV commercials in which he cocked a finger at the camera and cackled, "Folks, I don't want to make...

Ashcroft, Mineta Miss State of the Union WASHINGTON - President Bush designated Attorney General John Ashcroft to stay away from his State of the Union speech Tuesday night, making Ashcroft the successor to head the government should catastrophe strike at the Capitol. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta, hospitalized for a back condition, also was absent. Mineta is the lone Democrat in Bush's Cabinet. The absence of a Cabinet secretary maintained a long-standing tradition that one member not attend presidential addresses to Congress. Ashcroft stayed in an undisclosed location Tuesday night as the rest of Bush's Cabinet, top military aides and three...

Reality TV leaves bad taste Fri Jan 17, 1:48 AM ET Add Entertainment - Hollywood Reporter to My Yahoo! By Scott Collins LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Is it too much to ask TV contestants to eat horse bowels? As reality TV explodes across the dial, even some producers worry that the craze is crossing boundaries of responsibility and taste. In an unusual lapse of Hollywood protocol, some participants at a panel Thursday in Beverly Hills assailed certain kinds of reality shows for lowering standards, singling out the NBC hit "Fear Factor." In one widely criticized episode this month,...

Here are a few things I have observed over the past week involving the media's response to the sniper shoootings Katie Couric today- question to a ATF agent- "So I understand the .223 gun is dangerous because its got spirals in the barrel? ATF- Yes Katie all rifles have spirals in the barrel. CNN grapics- "The AR-15 can shoot rapidly" "The AR-15 is good on moving targets" CNN chick to ATF "So is the AR-15 used by gangs/thugs?
