Following an invitation to observe the general elections in the United States scheduled for 5 November 2024, and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed a Limited Election Observation Mission (LEOM).

Observers will closely follow fundamental components of the elections, including:

Election-related legislation and its implementation,

including federal and state election legislation Election administration - including voter registration,

voter identification,

alternative voting mechanisms and measures to ensure secrecy of the vote

New voting technologies - focusing on the type of technology used in the elections, certification and evaluation of these technologies

The campaign environment, including online. Campaign finance, including its regulation, transparency and accountability. the resolution of election-related disputes
