Katie Couric?

I was watching a commercial for a bank, I think it is Washington Mutual or something like that. They showed a group of guys and something struck me as strange about it.

I finally figured it out. There was a group of maybe 20 people who were all the bad guys. Every single one was a White male. There was only one good guy shown. A Black guy.

A few minutes later I saw another one and laughed. It was Truth and just about all the good guy kids were some minority, then they showed the evil Tobacco guys. Again every single one was a White male.

Willie has a great voice but he just might be the dumbest entertainer I have ever seen. I bet his IQ is in the high 80's, probably not retarded but still stupid.

Gingrich has some personal flaws but he has always struck me as being extremely intelligent. I would take what he says seriosly.

None of the recent Superman movies have been very good imo. The really cheaply made ones of the 40's or maybe 50's were better. I doubt they spent more than a few thousand dollars making them yet they were entertaining.

Geoge Reeves was the best of them all.

The TV series, "Smallville" is the best thing done in some time and it is very uneven. I do like Tom Welling and Rosenbaum. The black haired Lana Lang is unusually pretty but she just doesn't remind one of the Lana in the comics books.

Your mention of Stepanie Zimbalist made me remember her. She was unusually beautiful and also seemed a good actress. I could never understand why she didn't become a superstar.

Goodness, with all those hit shows I just realized I only liked one of them, (Twin Peaks) and that one for maybe the first 10 episodes.

I too have heard he was a nice guy.

I have noticed a strange phenomena when it comes to Blacks, history and the movies.

If one selects a place and time in which the odds of seeing a Negro would be maybe less than 1 in a million, there will be some protrayed as being present.

If we are talking 12th century England, 9th Century Scotland, or 10th century BC Greeece, in a movie there will somehow be large numbers of Blacks present.

Now other ethnic groups don't get the same recognition. For instance there will be no American Indians accomanying Jason and the Argonauts. Nor will there be any Japanese included with Robin Hood's Merry Men.

Of course this rule has it's exceptions such as Braveheart.

Although I think "Red River" was Wayne's best, "The Man Who Shot Libety Valance" was a close second and imo the most under-rated.

Just about everyone lists Red River as a great one but TMWSLV. was also one fine movie.

I liked the "Quiet Man" too. I once heard Wayne say his best movie was "Red River" I think I agree with him.

I once visited Clan Morrison at the highland games and was surprised to see that John Wayne was a member of the Clan.

I went to school with a guy named Robert Roberts.

I don't know this is true but I don't doubt it either. It certainly would explain a lot of Bush's actions.

For that matter, I have wondered at times if it was a good idea myself. I decided it wasn't eventually.

I sometimes think we are living in Bizarro United States.

We have people who have invaded our country, are here illegally and those who want to send them back are extremists? Even here on a supposed conservative site there are large numbers of people who support the law breakers or at least attack those who want to enforce the laws already written.

The B-26 had better performance but I always thought the B-25 was prettier.

You are right about the proper shot sizes for quail but the real reason is you would be extremely unlikely to hit one with buckshot.

Of course hitting a quail with a single buckshot will not cause it to explode, but I suspect you already knew that and were using a little hyperbole.
