It's hard to tell with all the literary critics here but will the real sedevacantist please stand up. I'm replying privately because I refuse to sponsor more of this kind of uncivil and downright unChristian behavior that is all too common among these schismatics.
Fr Hardin is one of my favorites also, your lucky to have spoken to him. Aside from that, I tend to agree a bit more mildly with veritate and kjvail that this doesn't work. Yes, of course the Pope and his curia know much much more than we do about what goes on. But it seems that the "wait them out" method employed by the Pope in regards to heresy in the Church is not the viable solution when saving souls. It worked well for communism, liberation theology, and host of other issues that this pontiff has tackled, but a firmer and more aggressive approach is needed when it comes to truth and salvation. Saint Patrick was a great example of a more effective approach. Show the pagans how their system fits into the Catholic one by coopting their feasts, sacrifices, etc. Wait out that generation as it matriculates and focus on the next.
I wrote a piece on this issue when applying for a job last year so I'm slightly familiar with it. But then again, I didn't get the job so maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about.
By the way, are you giving up FR for Lent or was that a joke. I ask because I actually am. I find that I've been enjoying myself since I got here so I thought I'd add it to the list of enjoyments that I'm foregoing.
Keep up the good posts and don't let the "trads" get you down.
In Jesu et Maria,
Christopher
