I propose that we, as citizens of the United States, file a class-action suit against the Senate of the United States, seeking damages and remediation under the Truth in Advertising and Truth in Content acts. We don't want our money back, although that would be nice. We don't want punitive damages. What we want is honest labeling on the packages. The Housing and Urban Development Department and the mayors of Atlanta, Detroit and Miami moved Saturday to see that their law enforcement agencies give preference to Smith & Wesson when buying guns and called on others to follow suit. The preference would apply to "any gun makers that adopt a new code of responsible conduct." For the time being at least, that means only Smith & Wesson.
