That is my line of thought as well. Depends on the parameters of the contract. If it’s a one year deal. Then he can get cut( nothing ventured, nothing gained.) Bill isn’t the sentimentalist type (see: Lawyer Milloy, Richard Seymour, Mike Vrabel, Randy Moss, amongst others)
However, if it’s a two or three year deal. I think Belichick may have Tim switch positions.

That final game now on tape, was the lasting image other team’s defensive coordinators would see. Belichick gave the blue print on how to stop Tebow. Elway knew he couldn’t go into the following season without a back-up plan. The Bobby Douglass type of QB doesn’t equate to long term success in the NFL.

I would also add unlike other sports. The margin of error window is so small. The other 30 owners, General Managers, Scouting Departments, and Coaching staffs know this when looking at players.

They can try. Last time I looked, Daniel Snyder is a private owner. He can tell them to stick that bill up their collective sphincters. He doesn’t have to proselytize to the good for nothing PC crowd. Right now the limp wristed nancy boys having a meltdown over RGIII’s comments.

I know. Dwelling on that one playoff win. If that is the standard what would Vince Ferragamo’s and David Woodley’s Super Bowl runs be in comparison? Even Dieter Brock won a playoff game in his only NFL season, granted the Rams had Eric Dickerson in the backfield. A win is still a win, by logic.

I agree with you. Besides, with Gronk being out and on Belichick’s last nerve. I see Bill calling the Tebow camp let Tim come in to convert to Tight End. He can learn the ropes from his college team mate, Aaron Hernandez. There is no shame in having a Mark Bavaro like career. It’s his all or nothing at all approach regarding the QB position is what is going to be his detriment.

According to Jay Glazer (Fox NFL Insider) who has excellent sources. Said on his tweeter account that Tebow chose the Jets because he knew the former HC Mularky and GM Smith was against the idea that Khan was pushing for his services. Jets had better equity at the time to make such a deal. Woody wanted to take away the headlines from the Giants who had recently won the Super Bowl. Woody did the same thing in acquiring Favre from Green Bay (after the Giants beat the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII)

Glazer went on to say this morning that It’s hard to do business with Tebow. The constant pressure of coaches to play him and the circus that follows him. Plus Tim is stubborn, if he can acquiesce to play another position then there may be a ball club or two that’ll pick him up.

Fast forward to earlier this year. Khan hires a new GM and coach. Second GM is against the idea. Went as far as saying “I can’t imagine a scenario where we could get Tim.” added “Even if he is released.” Khan may be the owner, he is not a football person so he did the right thing and yielded to his current think tank.

I like Tebow as a person. However, he is not a good quarterback. I keep hearing Canada, that is not an option. The Montreal Alouettes own his rights. The Als isn’t
going to bench Anthony Calvillo in favour. The 47% in the completion catergory isn’t going to get it done, either here or up there. The CFL is a pass happy league. Teams can ill afford having their drives stalling.

He isn’t Joe Montana, Steve Young or other famous Super Bowl winning QBs. If you want a fair comparison go back to the 1970s and look at Bobby Douglass. Big bruising left handed QB that can bowl people over with his legs. They have similar statistics and skill set. Granted Douglass threw alot of picks, Tebow coughed up the ball quite a bit.
