“The Republicans have no way of stalling the vote until after Christmas. What part of this don’t some of you understand? The GOP doesn’t even have to be there, as the DIMS have the votes anyway”

They could stick around long enough to put some pressure on the dems that are getting hammered by their constituents not to pass socialized medicine. Instead, they roll over and show their belly. Sad.

Tar and feathering needs to make a come back. Maybe then these “Republicans” and “conservatives” will stop trying to sell our freedom for pork.

It is almost painfull to watch him try to talk and listen to what he is being told in his earpiece at the same time.

The town halls seem to be having an effect. God bless the young soldier that spoke for us.

All of us here need to grow stones this size and demand our government back. It belongs to us.

I messed with them a few years ago and got stomped bad. Was self employed, didn’t file a tax return for a few years, lost my contract and decided to live off of my “tax fund” instead of applying for social services.

There were quite patient with me in the beginning, but when they realized that I didn’t feel that I owed them the money, the amount I owed doubled quickly due to fines and penalties. They started filing liens on my property over one missed (thier fault, they didn’t record it properly) payment. Took me 5 years to get them off my back. I will honestly never screw with them again.

“But with an Obama at the helm, neither he or the Pelosi & Kennedy types will present much in the way of obstacles to mutually further a socialist agenda.”

Agree completely. The problem is that he IS going to be the president. It’s already a done deal. Until he does something illegal, there is not really much that can be done about it. Next time, how about we actually put up a conservative candidate instead of a RINO. Notice the democrats loyalty didn’t follow McCain to the polls.

McCain is a good man, but he is not a conservative.

“We do not have to agree with ANYTHING he does, but that doesn’t make him any less POTUS.”

Pretty much my point all along. Although to hear some tell it around here, having respect for the office of President of the United States of America makes you a socialist. I didn’t vote for him, but I refuse to activly bash him. Just think how much Bush could have accomplished if the left would have quit their petty bickering.

“I think you are a liberal/Marxist/Democrat like Obama is . You are a stealth troll, not posting very often.”

I have never been a liberal/Marxist/Democrat nor have I ever attempted to troll. I was raised a conservative and continue to be one. The Republicans used to be the conservative party, but long abandoned us. I think George Bush was a good president and led by not following the polls and beleive history will vindicate him.

Free Republic used to be a place where people could have intelligent discussions on political topics but sadly over the years has turned into the rights version of DU. The minute someone doesn’t walk in lockstep with the rest, the name calling starts.

“You are changing no one’s mind, you liberal.”

Those are fighting words where I come from. Watch your mouth.

“Only a confused moderate wishing to confuse others would stand behind a Marxist and still say that he’s a conservative.”

I equate you calling him a Marxist with the non-stop bleating of the left comparing Bush to hitler and thier high pitched squeals that he is a fascist. Extreme claims do require proof. You will win no converts with exageration.

“A misguided country unified under socialism?”

Which ammendment allows the president to pass laws that would allow socialism to overtake our society?

Congress on the other hand does have that power. Ever consider the idea that your rage has been diverted to a figurehead and not aimed at where the problem actually is?

“Eek. I hope not. Socialized medicine? Driving electricity rates into the stratosphere to bankrupt the coal industry? Establishing a civilian police force (read: brown shirts) as well armed as the military? Making nice with the whack job in Iran? And let’s not forget “spreading the wealth.” “

I was refering to brining the country back together again. My worst nightmare is socialized medicine. I would hope that a few checks and balances would keep the socialized programs at bay, but you never know. These are strange times we live in. Although the last time I checked, the same population that elected him president, is about the renew the democratic majority in the house and senate. So much for checks and balances.

I can only hope that America’s best interest is actually a priority for our newly elected government. Seeing as how they don’t have to spend 3/4ths of their time trying to undermine the country now that they are running it.

“Winning it fair and Square? With the MSM bought and paid for by the Soros machine, and the colleges with the help of the soros money machine moving college students with pay to change the demographics in swingstate voting. MOVEON,MICHAEL MOORE and his manufacturing of decent. Not to mention the manipulated financial debacle with Barney Frank, DODD and COMP.. And the constant bambardment on Bush from the very beginning. The Lies and leaks to the enemy. And the Under the table scheming and bribery. ACORN, AYERS, WRIGHT, etc... Where’s his BC? Fair and Square? Fair Doctrine coming, You think the Partiot Act was bad? We Ain’t seen Nothing Yet.”

This is the type of post that we all laugh at when seen on DU. Exchange the acronyms and buzzwords for liberal ones, then the tinfoil hat and moonbat posts follow quickly.

Try to rise above it folks. They won. We can either pout in the corner or try to help the country get back on it’s feet again. Our country is not doing well at the moment, and I do think the blame rests on the democrats shoulders. The president is a figurehead, and in times of emergency, our commander and chief. Obama claims to represent everyone, which is what a president should be. If he calls out the congress for their sad preformance, then he will have my complete support. Until then, I will not try to undermine a different approach to our ills.

“I agree. He won it fair and square even if he did so by casting a spell on the electorate. I may disagree with 100% of his policies but I will give the office the respect it deserves and to the person who holds it( in contrast to what the left did to Bush).”

Agree 100%. We should not lower ourselves to the standard that the left has set for the last 8 years. As conservatives, I would hope that most would want what is best for the country. It is time to act like the adults and stand behind our new president. Feel free to disagree and challenge decisions, but to diliberatly try to invoke a division in this country is counter productive and childish. I hope he does what he say he will. Our country united again is greater than “us winning”.

“I would almost vote for Kinky based on his stance on freedom to smoke.”

I would easily vote for Kinky, democrat or not. He is strait up with what he is up to. I respect a democrat more that says he will raise your taxes, over a republican that claims he won’t during election and does otherwise. Until we drive the serpents out of Texas government (i.e. Rick Perry) everyone but the republicans will be getting my vote. It’s called honesty folks. Hope the Perry folks make a tick mark in that column for me.

Russian politics have always interested me. They have some odd twists and strange ways of looking at things. My favorite picture from the war in Iraq was the one with the Polish special forces posing with a Seal team. Wish I had that one available to post. Good to meet you too. I haven’t heard about the drop. Hopefully they weren’t armed..heh.

“What countries or groups do you feel pose the biggest threat to the longevity of the United States?”

IMHO, I’d say China and Russia. Russia has shifted strategies to using rouge nations (Iran, Syria) to do thier bidding. China literally has us by the purse strings.
