Understand that in supporting abortion politicians automatically separate themselves from communion with the church as a matter of conscience. Going to communion anyway compounds the felony. The bishops have a problem. To publically excommunicate the miscreant is to give him loads of free publicity; to not do so is a tacit approval of the pro abortion stand. This problem is now being considered nationally by the bishoips.

There is a problem inherent here. If a colonel-grade commander does this, what message is being sent to Private Snuffy in A Battery? These charges were brought by a fine division commander. Basically, the problem is that there is a very thin line between an army and an armed mob. By definition West set an ugly precedent for his command.

For some time I've noticed that the best and brightest undergraduates at my school appear to be conservatives. Recent poll numbers bear out my insight.
