Looking at the Trumpsters of today, I am reminded of the rabid Schwarzenegger supporters of yesteryear. Not caring about conservatism, not giving a damn about principles, not caring one bit about anything but winning. Perhaps a few of a Schwarzeneggerites would like to comment about how all of that worked out.

Is it really that difficult to come up with this response to all of the ridiculous distractions in the news right now?

Here are two simple suggestions for the Right in this election cycle. First, a new wide reaching pledge, akin to the Contract With America. Fox Business recently aired a special by John Stossel, Illegal America, outlining the tens of thousands of pages if ridiculous laws and regulations plaguing Americans today. How about a pledge that asks Americans to first, point them out, and second, they will be gotten rid of? This will engage an electorate who (rightly) believes that they are not heard, and that their opinions simply are not welcome. Also, the input from those who are inclined to...

Hello all, my father died recently, and in his estate were gas and oil rights for some property in northeastern Montana. Is there anyone here who can give me some of the basics concerning this sort of asset? Perhaps an educated guess on the current leasing value per acre of these sorts of holdings? Hoping that FR can come through with some good information on this for me. Many thanks in advance.

I would like to ask you all to say a prayer this Thanksgiving Day for my good friend Ray. Ray is a loyal friend of mine, as well as one of the most brilliant conservative minds I have ever encountered. I know very little about his ailment at this time, except that he has very serious liver problems and has already undergone one surgery. I am hoping that with the help of all of our prayers that Ray will pull through this and allow many more years of conversations between he and I, and make this thread a bright light...

Billy Baxter, a "man about town" in Las Vegas, is a very successful 63-year-old professional gambler. He’s a sports-betting expert and well-known high-stakes poker player who has seven World Series of Poker bracelets to his credit, trailing only Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, and Phil Hellmuth in that category. Many know him as the guy who staked Stu Ungar when he captured his third world championship in 1997. Baxter is renowned for his gambling expertise and poker accomplishments. His greatest achievement, however, came not on the green felt, but in the courtroom, where he stood up to the IRS (William E....

Authorities are announcing that four children have been abducted from the Kennewick area. Didnt catch all the names, but the children are 2 white females age 10 and 7, and 2 white males age 6 and 5, taken by James Moran (father, I think) white male, 5'8" 242 lbs brown eyes, brown hair. Also with them is Josh (didnt catch the last name) white male, 5'6" 130 lbs, brown hair, blue eyes. Suspects were last seen driving a silver 1986 Acura Integra 5-door, Washington plate 186-PRD (I guess they mean hatchback) and are to be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Gore’s TV War: He Lobs Salvo At Fox News by Josh Benson Among the many problems facing the Democratic Party, according to former Vice President Al Gore, is the state of the American media. "The media is kind of weird these days on politics, and there are some major institutional voices that are, truthfully speaking, part and parcel of the Republican Party," said Mr. Gore in an interview with The Observer. "Fox News Network, The Washington Times, Rush Limbaugh—there’s a bunch of them, and some of them are financed by wealthy ultra-conservative billionaires who make political deals with Republican administrations...

Decided to make a thread concerning the new Left Behind novel, The Desecration. Am about halfway through it now, and it is pretty darn good. Chaim has his showdown with Carpathia, and the believers make their way to safety. Will have more when I finish, but not to worry, no spoilers...JFK

John Ross wrote a very provacative and controversial book called Unintended Consequences. It is a book about the 2nd Amendment and the assaults it has endured. In the book, corrupt government agents target the protagonist on a personal basis, and he and some friends declare a terrorist war on them and their cronies, which evolves into many independant terrorist attacks on all manner of tyrannical beauracracies and their agents. This book was so controversial that the main book review houses would not review it, as to not give it anymore publicity than it would otherwise recieve. My question to you freepers ...

Mexican bank may owe customer $46 billion By James F. Smith Los Angeles Times Lawyers for Banco del Atlantico scoff at such calculations, putting Reyes' maximum claim at something like $150,000. The case has fascinated Mexicans, who have more often been on the losing end of bank disputes. Decades of economic crises, sudden bursts of inflation and devaluations of the peso regularly sent Mexican interest rates through the roof. That pushed loan payments out of reach and forced tens of thousands of people to forfeit houses and other assets. This time, the sky-high interest rates of years past could work ...

Just saw this on FoxNews, the massacre of the royal family is being called an accident with an automatic weapon. Man, do they ever need Eddie Eagle. They must be taking spin lessons from Bill Clinton, but this is just too much to be believed...JFK

Conservatives follow liberals to court Monday, April 9, 2001 By MARK SHIELDS SYNDICATED COLUMNIST There is one absolutely foolproof test for determining when any American political movement is running short of energy and self-confidence that its ideas still command majority support among the voters. Instead of seeking to write laws the traditional way, by popular mandate and an elected legislature, the fading movement pursues its objectives through courts. That's exactly what American liberalism began to do after the Roosevelt-Truman era. From the late 1960s forward, American liberalism was more about finding a friendly judge to grant specific rights than it ...

I am thinking about buying a handgun (or two, Im kind of a sucker for a new hobby) and I was looking for some suggestions. I want them for target shooting and, of course, protection. My only problem is, I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT THEM. I know virtually nothing about brands, model #s, what kind of materials are used in good and bad firearms, ammo, good prices for new and used, etc., etc. I know that this probably isnt the place to come looking for other gun rookies, but I am sure that there are some here who might like ...
