I wonder if Felos will take up criminal law once his client is charged with attempted murder? The autopsy should show the difference between brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen and brain damage due to trauma, as well as any previous broken bones due to trauma. Doesn't it make you wonder if Felos will stand by his client's side then?

BTW, I heard the medical examiner made it a point to state in his press conference that Florida law MANDATED that he perform an autopsy when it is suspected that a person will be cremated, and that he did not do it at the REQUEST of Schiavo.

    And the spin continues...

ewwwwww....wonder what he meant by "warm milk" ?

Probably pretty close to what Felos referred to as "beautiful" and "peaceful".

The only difference between Felos and a serial killer is Felos figured out a way to do it legally.

Please tell me you're joking...a moment of humility? from a cockroach ambulance chaser? Paleeeeez!

Actually, can't you just picture Felos as a rat? I'll bet he'll be a rat when he is "reincarnated"...right after he has that psychic plane crash.

Oh, wouldn't it be great if crazy attorneys could be considered brain dead? We could refuse to feed them and let them die a "peaceful" death!

The only problem is that two nurses testified in an affidavit (not allowed by Judge Greer) that Terri was able to take Jello and pudding through a baby bottle. The fact that she swallows her own saliva also points to the possibility of rehabilitation. The reason she was not allowed to receive any further foods by mouth was due to her husband's adament insistance that no therapy of any kind be given to his wife.

This fact has me troubled. I have heard of family members wanting to PUSH for therapy, but not many who want to BLOCK such therapy.

How does Scott reconcile the total devotion of Michael for Terri with the fact that Michael admitted on a deposition that he was having extra marital affairs as long ago as 1990 BEFORE Terri collapsed??? Ironic that the year he was having an affair, Terri mysteriously collapsed from a "chemical" imbalance. Scott Peterson did the same and was convicted for his wife's death. He swore Laci knew all about his affair and was "okay with it." Sound familiar?

Brother's don't always know everything about their own siblings.

I'm confused. If he loves her and will hold her hand, who will hold his "fiancee's" hand? Or the hands of the children he's had with this other woman?

The only difference between Michael Schiavo and Scott Peterson is Michael managed to get a lawyer to do the killing for him...eventually.

I heard the puppets were pretty close to anatomically correct in the uncut version, and that they were altered in the scene to prevent the view.

Frankly, I still laugh when I think about the sex scene. I don't know which was funnier....the gyrations or the scene where you just see the strings moving.

    Too funny.

It's called Natural Selection. Idiots and Darwin award recipients usually succumb to this as well.

I belong to a group (found in Yahoo Groups) called the Association of Hebrew Catholics. We have analyzed this entire situation and have agreed that, just like the Spanish Inquisition (promoted by the Catholic heirarchy) was an ugly blot on Catholic history, the crucifixion of Christ (mainly by the Sanhedrin, not the average Jew in Jerusalem) was an ugly blot on Jewish history. However, the truth is paramount, and we must face our sins, Christian or Jew, and acknowledge them. Otherwise, we are destined to a perpetual cycle of repetition.

One interesting note...many in the group are highly sensitive to anti-Semitic issues. However, it was agreed that the single group most responsible for the current wave of anti-Semitism is the Fundamentalist Islamic nations. I somehow doubt they will watch the movie, since they discount Jesus as the Messiah as well. Chances are, they will not allow any of their members watch it, for fear they might be converted.

How sad. Ultimately, though, it's a truth in history that makes many Jews uncomfortable. Perhaps it bothers them because it was foretold by their OWN prophets and they subconciously know their own history regarding any prophet.

Good is definitely only found at times when one looks for it. Those who look for the negative will only see negative as long as that's what they seek. It takes courage to look and see both. Humility and honesty are the key requirements to accomplish this.

Besides, I think too many people think Islam = terrorist. It doesn't necessarily, although in the present day practices it does. Just like the Inquisition doesn't necessarily reflect true Christianity, even though it was executed by "Christians".

In fact, I once heard it said that, where there is the greatest good, there is the greatest evil nearby. Probably pretty accurate.

Wow! Great article. I knew there were Muslims out there who saw the contradiction between the Koran and the actions of the extreme fundamentalists, but it's nice to hear someone address it head on from the inside! I'm glad she didn't leave her faith to challenge it. It gives her more credibility to stay within and fight. I just hope she isn't killed in the process.

I suspect the good California congressman was defensive because his state benefitted from such bizarre grants. NIH gave several million to study the effects of methaine (sp?) gas emissions produced by dairy cows. Anyone who has driven through central California can tell you the effects...it makes you plug your nose! DUH!

"The erosion of rights granted by the constitution in favor of "rights" never mentioned in that great document astounds me."

Those are called phantom rights. They exist only in the minds of liberal justices who have managed to talk themselves into a corner. They probably saw the word "right" and "privacy" somewhere in the constitution and deemed it a right as well. The danger, though, is that ANYTHING done illegally can fall into that category. The possibilities are endless.

I understand where you're coming from. You have a pure vision as to who the real victim in this is and the real victim(s) didn't really get any justice. I respect that concept. We need people like you to fight this thing.

However, I've been on the other end of the phone when a woman was desperate and wanting information about abortion. Having a hostile mentality towards someone who is acting on desperation won't win the battle of the heart. That can only be won one mother at a time. To show our outrage of the dual victimization of the mother is reasonable. This creep took advantage of a woman's panic and capitalized on it by offering to perform the abortion in the first place. No matter what you think of her, you have to hold him in higher contempt because he's a medical doctor. He KNOWS what he's doing and is just rationalizing it to justify taking their money. To add insult to injury, he violated the patient doctor trust by fondling them. The first injury is truly greater than the second. We should, however, be outraged at both. It's sick to think this man holds an M.D. after his name. Those initials (normally) command respect.

But then, any doctor that does abortions is a prostitute of his/her profession and doesn't deserve the M.D. after his/her name.

I think the big thing here is the irony of the anti-life types who would defend (and did) this creep's reputation JUST because he is an abortionist. Intellegent people can put two and two together and understand it isn't a stretch for a creep that murders innocent babies before they are born would also feel entitled to behaviour of this kind. I guess it's a little amazing to see how the anti-life groups that DID act astonished even COULD act astonished. Let's think about it...a man makes his living destroying vulnerable babies before birth and collects money from the mothers of these babies as a murderer for hire...I can see where he might not have a whole lot of respect for women. Not that this justifies his behaviour, but it does explain it to a small degree.

You would need to read the actual case testimony to understand the difference. From what I understand, one woman actually saw the creep rub himself against her leg while he did this. Let's just say I've NEVER had anything like THAT happen by a doc, and I'm preggo with my sixth baby!

There is a vast difference between a pelvic exam (which doesn't involve clitoral stimulation techniques this creep used) and what this jerk did. Even if you are anti-life, you have to wonder about the "women's groups" who supported his sorry butt. Talk about sleeping with the enemy!

And last I checked, unless the women were in for a "well woman exam", breast exams are NOT part of the deal. In each case, from the way it's been reported, the women were there for an abortion...not a "well woman exam". Ergo, no touchy the breastie.

EWWWWWW.....they were groped by THAT???? To think they would even LET a creep that looked like that come near them is amazing to me. Sorry, but I don't buy the "gee, he was a doctor, I thought he knew what he was doing" thing. I'm glad some women finally had the guts to call his butt on the carpet for it. I'm just sorry we didn't catch him 20,000 abortions ago!
