A regulations watchdog predicted that President Joe Biden will try to use executive orders to implement his $2 trillion Build Back Better legislation. Clyde Wayne Crews, of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, told the Washington Examiner that Biden appeared poised to expand federal regulations greatly, especially if he loses control of the House and Senate. Former President Barack Obama called that approach ruling with a "pen and a phone" when he lost support on Capitol Hill, the Examiner said.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama is joining other federal prosecutors in declaring an intent on prosecuting people who were in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday intending to commit crimes. U.S. Attorney Prim Escalona, in a Tweet late Wednesday, said that anyone from within the Northern Alabama district’s boundaries who traveled to the nation’s capital with intent to commit crimes will be prosecuted. “The attack on our nation’s Capitol strikes at the heart of our democracy,” said Escalona. “If anyone from Northern Alabama traveled to D.C. to commit these criminal acts, then they’ll be prosecuted by the...

An Alabama man and his son killed each other in a dispute over a dog, authorities said. Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer told WALA-TV that Kelvin James Coker, 60, discovered his dog had been shot on Saturday. The man then drove to the home of his 32-year-old son, Kelvin Nicholas Coker, who claimed to have killed the animal. The older man shot first, shooting his son in the leg, and the younger man returned fire with a shotgun, Stringer said. Both men died from their wounds. The sheriff called the family “very dysfunctional.”

Legendary Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden has tested positive for COVID-19, he told multiple reporters on Monday. Bowden, who turns 91 in November, told Jim Henry of the Tallahassee Democrat he was hospitalized last week due to a leg infection brought on by the removal of skin cancer spots. He was diagnosed with the virus after returning home, but said he has not exhibited symptoms such as a fever or breathing issues. “I don’t feel bad, yet,” the famously upbeat Bowden said. “I guess I can loaf around the rest of the week. I just have to keep an...

This is my pink pu$$y hat wearing, Doug Jones supporting neighbor. When she and her boyfriend are not out cruising the neighborhood and shopping at local stores on the mower and lawn cart they can be found walking the neighborhood streets in their underwear. They are out there and the stupid is strong! Take nothing for granted in November 2020.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is alleging someone at the McDonald's off Point Mallard Parkway intentionally placed small pieces of bacon in a Muslim family's McChicken sandwiches. Most Muslims do not eat pork products, such as bacon, for religious reasons. A McDonald's executive said in a statement Tuesday that the restaurant is looking into the matter. “We want to assure our customers that this was not an intentional act by our employees,” Rick Walter, local McDonald’s owner/operator, said through a Nashville public relations firm. “We value every customer and strive to ensure all orders are accurately prepared and served." The family...

A Vestavia Hills couple got quite the surprise on New Year's Eve when a nude man wearing a presidential mask creeped into their breezeway. The man, who was naked except for what appeared to be a Ronald Reagan rubber mask covering his head and a sock covering his private parts, ran off when Jersey Belle's Danielle Yancey and her husband spotted him. The ordeal, however, was caught on their home security video and later posted to Facebook as a warning to neighbors and others. "I know a lot of people are laughing about it and, honestly, I got a chuckle...

Just as the details were emerging of a sex scandal involving Gen. David Petraeus that the media was calling “explosive,” Staff Sgt. Kenneth Wade Bennett took what bomb disposal experts call “the lonely walk” toward an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan. Bennett was on his third combat tour there and this time he had left behind a pregnant wife and a 2-year-old daughter. A snapshot taken of him and his daughter, Lila, just before he deployed in September showed the two of them walking hand in hand away from the camera.

62 Students Absent Thursday, 107 Friday Albertville, Al— Just days after a U.S. District Judge ruled that Alabama's new immigration policy could become law, it's already having a huge impact on Albertville City Schools. Hispanic students make up roughly 30-35 percent of the student population. Ayer says around 30 students have formally withdrawn from the school system since Wednesday. He says the large number of absenses may also represent students who will not be returning. He also says he...

Some 44,000 volts of electricity proceeded to pass through his body, burning the clothes off his back and burning off his genitals.
