Part of the problem is the timidity of the necessary countries to let us stage from their lands. Air strikes are hours away. Hopefully we can stage from closer bases very soon.

Fragging one's superior is not exactly a new thing. If we rush conclusion and American servicemen become the enemy based on their beliefs, then we have begun to lose. Let's at least let the smoke clear before we jump to conclusions.

After 8 years of Clinton and his willing lackies, I find it hard to assert that lying is "an Arab thing".

AAA is ineffective against cruise missiles. Targets can be IDd and defeated form UAVs. The idea of a siege is an anachronism. Unless, of course, you’re Janet Reno and you’re
dealing with Americans with children in their home.

All kidding aside, an effective way to draw friendly forces into a classic, street to street siege would be Iraqi forces to imbed themselves in Baghdad and begin a horrific campaign against the citizens of Iraq. In this case, it would not go over well to circle the city and pick them off slowly from the air, while they slaughter the people we are there to liberate.

No surprise here. Their leader has publicly stated that war has never solved anything. For someone who is old enough to recall the liberation of France during World War II, this impossibly stupid statement explains perfectly how 90% of the populace, the majority of them not old enough to have any personal knowledge of that war, could ignore the fact that they owe their sovereignty to the outcome of two, separate wars in the last century.
