My very conservative lurker brother needs advice for his classroom science lectures. He wants to put all his Microsoft Word lessons onto PowerPoint. When he copies a hundred pages and tries to paste them onto a suitably long PP file, all pages are crammed onto the first slide. Cutting and pasting small sections will take him hundreds of hours. Any (detailed) help would be appreciated.

Shortly after McCain ended his first quest for the Presidency, he invited Tom Daschle to his Arizona vacation home. At the time, McCain was doing nothing to quell swirling rumors that he was considering switching parties. I joined a dozen FReepers who carried signs and "waved" at McCain's blacked-out SUV as he and Daschle went down the dusty road. The NYTimes and other reporters were there and covered our FReep ...

On this third anniversary of the Islamic terrorist attacks, please remember the families of our troops who are fighting to protect our freedoms. Arizona has lost 27 brave men and women who left families behind. If American soil is attacked again, who will protect and help our GI's families in time of need? Believe me, our troops think about this. Our troops have taken the fight to the enemy. Homeland Security is OUR mission.

I have had a question running around my head for some months now. In all the photos and videos I have seen over the years of Muslims praying and worshipping, I have never seen a joyful face. Do Muslims experience a worshipful joy, as is experienced in Christianity and other religions?

The Kerry-Heinz fortune has been estimated to be over 800 million bucks, if I remember correctly. Before assuming office, President-elects are required to put their assets into a blind trust so as not to make decisions and pronouncements that might enrich themselves. Would Teresa allow this or claim that the family fortune is hers alone? Would Lurch go along with this, or claim that it's "the family's money, not mine." After all, he refused to admit that the Heinz-Kerry SUVs were his -- he insisted they belonged to "the family". Has anyone asked this question of him? Will we see...

... sociologists and social psychologists have discovered that terrorist groups use cult-like conditioning techniques to convert normal individuals into remorseless killers ... ... limited global counterrorism resources should focus on eradicating the terrorist group training camps where the conditioning takes place ... ... If a terrorist is truly convinced that enemy old people, women and children are evil creatures, then killing them is not just easy; it is necessary, honorable, and rewarded ... What have we learned that will help responsible authorities eradicate terrorism? ... (1) If a leader is eliminated, the group is greatly weakend. ... (2) Aggressively disrupting...

The announcement by the U.S. Catholic Church yesterday "fessing up" and apologizing for decades of priestly pedophilia told us everything we already knew ... but nothing else. So let me add something. Does not decades of multiple abusive priests + decades of mutiple bishops moving priests from parish to parish + decades of cover-ups = CONSPIRACY at high levels?

As the Democratic presidential sweepstakes heats up, students at Harvard are greeting a parade of visiting candidates with polite smiles, and big yawns ... When (Chris) Matthews asked Dean to name his favorite book, the front runner boldly plugged his own campaign biography.

More than 40 times this year, police have been called to investigate incidents at an establishment, but it's not your ordinary problem-plagued gin mill. It's Chuck E. Cheese, the pizza, games, and birthday party paradise adored by children. But Chuck E. Cheese has become, at least for some adults, a place where the frenzy of Skee Ball, pizza, alcohol, and manic children translates into emotional overload. "The majority of the problems come from the adults, family members and friends who are there for the birthday parties", town police SGT Imley said. "It's not the kids".

Frustrated by endless busy signals, American Idol's die-hard fans are voting a second time -- with their wallets. And this time the winner is runner-up Clay Aiken ........ As of June 4, Aiken was outselling Studdard FOUR TO ONE and selling twice as many singles as last year's winner, Kelly Clarkson, did during the same period.

I need advice on how to handle a corporation that is a serial abuser of the American Flag. Input is needed from experienced protestors or veterans on the appropriateness of protesting on Memorial Day.

"I'm gonna guess it was political science, but I'm not sure, it might have been history. I'll check. I hadn't thought of that one." ----- Presidential hopeful Carol Moseley Braun, when asked what she majored in during college.

In the soon-to-be-released Democrat Dictionary, what words will be dropped from the English language ... other than "shame" and "niggardly".

China is facing a looming catastrophe as fast-growing industries and cities place unsustainable strains on water supplies. In a recent report, Beijing geologists have revealed that China's water crisis is far more serious than previously thought. The average level of the deep aquifer under the Hebie Province dropped by nearly 3 meters in 2000 alone. As the water table falls, rivers are running dry and lakes are disappearing. The Hebie province, which once had over 1,000 lakes, now has just 83.This may also lead to dramatic shifts in agricultural production; over the last two years, grain shortfalls have already created...

What if men were being denied pay raises because of their gender? I work in a county health department that switched from automatic annual pay raises to awarding raises based on performance. If you don't already know, health departments are predominantly staffed by women. Ours is 90% female. Being in the public record, I was able to obtain a summary of how our department (run by women) fared.Approximately 1/3 of the female employees were rated "exceeds standards", meaning they got a decent pay raise. ALL of the men were rated "meets standards", meaning we got a token raise. Now, if ...

I have The Fever, aperature fever, that is. After ten years of using a 4-inch refractor, I want a deep-sky scope. Problem is, I don't have deep pockets. The solution seems to be a Dobsonian-style scope. I've located four manufacturers of medium (10+ inches) aperature Dobs: Obsession, BlackKnight, StarSplitter, and StarMaster. I'm leaning towards a 15" Obsession. Any suggestions?

I have The Fever, aperature fever, that is. After ten years using a 4" refractor, I want a deep-sky scope. Problem is, I don't have a deep pocket. The Solution seems to be getting a Dobsonian-type telescope. I've found four suppliers of medium-aperature Dobs: Obsession, BlackKnight, StarMaster, and StarSplitter. Does anyone have first-hand experience with these companies? I'm leaning towards Obsession. Are there other manufacturers out there I should consider?

Dr. Michel Foucault, reknowned Dermatologist to the Stars, was reported as missing yesterday by his lifelong partner. "He didn't come home after work Friday, and I got worried. The kitties are absolutely crushed." Hollywood police located his SUV early this morning, abandoned on a beachfront road, with the keys still in the ignition. There are no leads, but some are speculating that the highly-talented dermatologist may have been kidnapped by Islamic terrorists seeking expertise in disguising themselves.Contacted this morning for comments, Mr. Michael Jackson insisted, "For the thousandth time, I don't whiten my skin. It's a medical condition."

I appreciated the sharp instincts of the cameraman who kept panning to Hillary ... we all saw her pathetic demeanor and p*ss poor attitude. The camera also caught her making a statement to Chucky, followed by his goofy grin. WHAT DID SHE SAY? As the son of deaf (now deceased) parents, I know there are some amazingly accurate lip readers. Does anyone know a deaf person that watched (or could see a replay) the speech?

On February 26, 2001, Anthony Aiken, then president of the National Environmental Health Association, sent a letter to President Bush requesting an audience .... on April 26th, Aiken received the following response from the White House."While we appreciate ... we do not forsee a time ... it is just not possible to fulfill the thousands of requests he receives ...
