I drove to the BOK Center in Tulsa today And it was very orderly, no protests as far as I could see. For those that don’t know, there is a “halfway house” with a homeless day center not very far from the BOK Center, and they were minding their own business as well. I used to drive a small bus in Tulsa and the only place that really scared me was the DayCenter. The Tulsa CO Jail is just around the corner, the CourtHouse is next door and the Main City Bus terminal is across the street, the Greyhound is...

ON MONDAY NIGHT, Slate’s Franklin Foer published a story that’s been circulating through the dark web and various newsrooms since summertime, an enormous, eyebrow-raising claim that Donald Trump uses a secret server to communicate with Russia. That claim resulted in an explosive night of Twitter confusion and misinformation. The gist of the Slate article is dramatic — incredible, even: Cybersecurity researchers found that the Trump Organization used a secret box configured to communicate exclusively with Alfa Bank, Russia’s largest privately-held commercial bank. This is a story that any reporter in our election cycle would drool over, and drool Foer did:...

It's a beautiful day. You just got your Apple Watch™ in the mail! You take it to your living room and unbox it. Wow. It's incredible. You go through the setup process, and link it to your iPhone. You set the charging dock on your nightstand, and set an alarm. You go to sleep, and dream of floating through white clouds in a blue sky as Jony Ive narrates. Your alarm wakes you at 9:30 on Saturday — the alarm on your Apple Watch. You pick the Apple Watch up from its charging dock, and put it on your wrist....

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma - A newly released audit has found that new patients seeking health care at the Muskogee and Oklahoma City VA hospitals waited an average of 31 and 44 days, respectively, to be seen. Monday's audit released by the Department of Veterans Affairs found that 464 new patients at the two facilities waited more than 60 days for an appointment. The audit also found that established patients at both care centers had waits averaging just over two days to be seen. Spokeswomen at the Muskogee and Oklahoma City hospitals said they were still examining the state-specific data and did...

The former chief of prosthetics at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Muskogee pleaded guilty in federal court to having fence and driveway work done on his home paid for by a medical supply company, according to the US Attorney's Office in Muskogee. Jeffrey Fisher, 37, of Broken Arrow pleaded guilty Tuesday to being a public official who received a gratuity. The US Attorney's Office said the charge arose from an investigation by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of the Inspector General. In a news release, the government said that beginning in April 2009 and continuing through March...

Thirteen-year-old Lane Dunkley just wanted to go hunting with his grandfather. What he got was a lecture on politics. Dunkley and his father, Daniel Reddy, who live in Tulsa, went to Broken Arrow on Tuesday night for a hunter safety course normally required to get an Oklahoma hunting license. The class was a reward of sorts. Dunkley, who wants to go hunting with his grandfather, was told he could take the class only if he brought up his grades. So he did — to a B-plus average. But when father and son arrived at the lesson, the volunteer instructor, Kell...

I am considering getting the Mother-in-Law a new iMac to replace her 5 year old W2K box. I don't know a lot about Mac's but this is the model I have picked out. They are a bit pricey, but I just can't buy her a MS Vista PC. What do you think?

Microsoft's Anti-Spyware program is causing troubles for people who also use Symantec's Norton Anti-Virus software; apparently, a recent update to Microsoft's anti-spyware application flags Norton as a password-stealing program and prompts users to remove it. According to several different support threads over at Microsoft's user groups forum, the latest definitions file from Microsoft "(version 5805, 5807) detects Symantec Antivirus files as PWS.Bancos.A (Password Stealer)." When Microsoft Anti-Spyware users remove the flagged Norton file as prompted, Symantec's product gets corrupted and no longer protects the user's machine. The Norton user then has to go through the Windows registry and delete multiple...

Officials to target employers of illegal immigrants BY JANICE FRANCIS-SMITH THE JOURNAL RECORD OKLAHOMA CITY -- To reduce the supply of illegal workers in Oklahoma, lawmakers are considering a proposal to target the source of the demand: employers. "Nothing is more expensive than cheap labor," professor Vernon Briggs, a labor economist at Cornell University in New York, told state House and Senate members assigned to a joint committee to consider how illegal workers are impacting Oklahoma's labor market. State Sen. Tom Adelson, D-Tulsa, and state Rep. Lance Cargill, R-Harrah – a pair that seldom see eye to eye on legislation...

Seven key reasons why the vote must be challenged at the electoral college By Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition / Free Press 1. Exit Polls Did Not Match Actual Vote in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida The gulf between the exit polls and counted votes was glaring. The Zogby Poll and the media consortium poll (including CNN and AP) had Kerry winning an electoral landslide with 53% and 51% respectively in Ohio. Why did exit polls match the actual vote in the nation, EXCEPT for Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania? Exit polls are considered the most accurate measurement of the vote. Exit...

Posted on Fri, Dec. 10, 2004 Coburn Wants to Keep Delivering Babies DAVID ESPO Associated Press WASHINGTON - Republican Sen.-elect Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, a politician and an obstetrician, wants to deliver more babies after he takes office Jan. 4, a request apparently at odds with Senate conflict-of-interest rules. Coburn "merely wants to break even with his costs to maintain his medical practice," and he has had private discussions with GOP leaders as well as members of the Senate ethics committee, spokesman John Hart said Friday night. Hart said Coburn has not yet made a formal request to the panel...
