  • Smart Phone to PC app transfer

    01/12/2013 5:16:35 PM PST · by agrace · 15 replies
Last resort here. For the life of me I can't locate a specific app on my samsung galaxy s3 in files to transfer it to my PC and then transfer it to my son's kindle fire. My old android phone was easy; this one shows no apk files readily. I've gone through astro file manager etc to no avail. Any thoughts on locating a specific app on this particular phone for transfer? Thank you.
  • Northeast Ohio Contrails (vanity)

I hesitate to start a thread like this... My husband called me a little while ago to say that the sports guy on AM 1100 in Cleveland was breaking into Rush briefly to say that there are a ridiculous number of contrails over NE OH. My husband, who was driving at the time, said sure enough, dozens of them. Looking outside right now I can probably count at least 20 criss-crossing the sky. So anyway, the sports guy (Mike Trivisonno), who is doing his own show now, is spouting off about how "SOMETHING" must be going on, even though "officials"...

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.  Prov 19:1, KJVUnless you've been out of the country or in a coma, you know that this week the news has been full of Senator John Kerry's latest gaffe.  But just in case, during a collegiate campaign speech for California gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides, he informed students that "if you make the most of it and you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you...
  • Synagogue Planned For Temple Mount, Hashemites to Add Minaret

The synagogue would be build upon the Temple Mount, but in an area that is indisputably not within the areas that require immersion and other preparations, according to Jewish law. Ariel says that the synagogue would not change the Muslim status quo on the mount, which is home to the Al-Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. “This is not a new idea,” Ariel stressed, “it has been brought up and considered countless times since the [1967] Six Day War [during which the Temple Mount was liberated from Jordanian occupation –ed.].” The plan will be submitted to the Jerusalem...

Israel has been attacked by Palestinian Arab terrorists 25,375 times since October 2000, General Security Service Director Yuval Diskin told his Knesset overseers Tuesday. That figure includes 142 “suicide” bomb attacks, Diskin said in a briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. The results of that terrorist onslaught are 1,048 persons murdered and over 5,600 injured and maimed, as well as incalculable mental trauma. Diskin said some 18,000 Palestinian Authority residents and another 225 Arab citizens of Israel have participated in perpetrating these attacks. The committee also heard a detailed analysis by former Defense Ministry official Uzi Rubin...

President Bush is coming to Cuyahoga Falls OH this Saturday afternoon and my husband has reserved us a couple of tickets. We've never been to a rally before and have some questions for those of you who have. Some info - it's an indoor event, scheduled to start at 330, and doors will close at 2. We are bringing our 3 kids (7,3 and 21 months) because we are new to OH and frankly, have no babysitter. Besides, our oldest wouldn't miss it for the world. :) Obviously, backpacks and duffle bags are prohibited; however, we will need some sort...

OK, I admit it, I don't know. Or at least I didn't. I was born in 1968, growing up in a house where my father was too old to be drafted and my brothers were too young. Much of what I knew of Vietnam was the little bit they told us in high school, qualified by how we weren't supposed to be there, our soldiers died for nothing, we stayed there too long, and Americans did barbaric things. The rest of what I knew was from movies made by Oliver Stone - we weren't supposed to be there, our soldiers...

Hugh Hewitt radio show | 8/23/04 | agrace
Last night while in the car, I was listening to Hugh Hewitt and heard an exchange so striking that it warranted a phone call to my husband at home to determine if anyone on FR was discussing it. Unless I missed a key word in my search, it doesn't seem to have been addressed, so I'll describe it here myself. I turned on the radio in the middle of an interview with Steve Gardner of the Swift Boat Vets, who was recounting an incident in Vietnam that involved the shooting of an adult and the inadvertent shooting of a child,...

Newly signed up as lightingguy, he has lurked as long as I have posted and only just now, with the bait of free Fantasy Football (w're the Stow Steelers in League 2), have I managed to get him to finally put the other foot in! Married 11 years last week, we have 3 kids and have known each other since meeting at Penn State in 86. We have travelled the journey from the left to the right pretty much in step over the years and he is truly my best friend and the one I believe intended for me by...

  • Vanity - Health Insurance question - Employer Obligations

I have a question regarding legal(?) obligations of employers regarding health insurance options. Of course employers are not obligated to provide health insurance to their employees, but when they do, are they required to provide equal options for same level employees? This is the issue - an employer has a company based in one state, but an office in another state as well. The home state employees are given a plan that requires simply a copayment, nothing more. The employees in the other state are given a plan (same health insurance provider) that requires not only a copay, but also...
  • Live on C-Span - House Armed Services Committee hears from former UN Weapons Inspectors

For the past half hour or so I have been watching two former UN weapons inspectors testify before the House Armed Services Committee live on C-Span. Is anyone else watching this? They are without a doubt making President Bush's case for him. They have stated unequivocally that time is not on our side, that if they held congressional voting cards (a question put to them by a Republican congressman from VA) that they would vote to invade, that Scott Ritter is a liar (quote - "if he isn't lying now, he was certainly lying years ago"), referencing his past statements...

Monday December 24 3:27 PM ET Arafat Absent at Bethlehem Christmas By Christine Hauser BETHLEHEM (Reuters) - Bethlehem marked Christmas Eve in a somber mood on Monday. Yasser Arafat called Israel's thwarting of his annual pilgrimage to Jesus's birthplace a ``crime'' and an Israeli settler was badly wounded in a shooting that a Palestinian group said was retaliation for Israel's treatment of their president. It appeared that appeals from religious leaders, including the Vatican, had failed to move Israel, which had demanded that Arafat arrest Palestinian militants if he wanted to travel. Saying his ``heart is heavy with sorrow,'' the ...

DURBAN, South Africa (Reuters) - Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat used a United Nations conference on Friday to blast Israel as a ``racist'' state and accused it of ethnic cleansing. ``Condemnation of the Israeli occupation and its racist practices and laws, which are based on racism and superiority, is considered today an urgent demand by our people,'' Arafat said at a panel meeting of leaders assembled at the U.N. World Conference Against Racism in the South African port of Durban. ``This brutality and arrogance are moved by a mentality of superiority that practices racism and racial discrimination, that adopts ethnic ...

U.S. Calls for Israeli Withdrawal From Beit Jala By Jonathan Wright WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Tuesday called for Israel to withdraw from the West Bank town of Beit Jala, saying the Israeli army's incursion into Palestinian-ruled territory would ``make matters worse.'' Israeli tanks and troops seized part of the Palestinian town on Tuesday on the grounds that it wanted to stop months of shooting by Palestinian gunmen at the Jewish settlement of Gilo, which Israel considers part of Jerusalem. ``The Israelis need to understand that incursions like this will not solve the security problems. They only make ...
