I hesitate to start a thread like this...
My husband called me a little while ago to say that the sports guy on AM 1100 in Cleveland was breaking into Rush briefly to say that there are a ridiculous number of contrails over NE OH. My husband, who was driving at the time, said sure enough, dozens of them. Looking outside right now I can probably count at least 20 criss-crossing the sky. So anyway, the sports guy (Mike Trivisonno), who is doing his own show now, is spouting off about how "SOMETHING" must be going on, even though "officials" have told him that it's just prime atmospheric conditions that allow the contrails to be seen so well.
He's not buying it, is stirring up the listening audience, so how about some educated freepers tell me that in fact it is the atmosphere. I personally have never seen anything like it, and I don't own a single tin foil hat, I swear.
So when you're all out of the shower, any comments on this hugh and series event would be appreciated, thanks.
It's started!! Jim Traficant is breaking out!
LOL
Oh no here they come
Lots here for the past two days over north GA.
More than usual anyway.
Most of the San Francisco to NE US flights pass over there, of course there are lots of contrails.
I don't know. But I do know, if "something" were going on, it would be wise to shut up about it for for a while.
Is Art Bell still alive and on the same topic he was on 8 yrs ago or something?
Caller just reported no flights in or out of Hopkins airport since noon...hmmmm.
ok...
Are the contrails logged in?
Contrails form in moist, cold air. The jet engines add to the moisture and it condensates into the contrail.
When the conditions are right, you get lots of them and they stick around a long time if the air "up there" (20k feet or more) isn't moving fast.
You aren't getting "sprayed" with "chemtrails".
Not true according to this:

Thanks to you both. My intention for asking the question wasn't to get people riled up but to provide an educated explanation to the radio dude who IS trying to get people riled up. You should hear this guy - he's got people monitoring short wave radio for military airbase transmissions and other sensationalist stuff.
In reality, the fact that the contrails are criss-crossing in every direction makes perfect sense that it would just be atmospheric...because that's what we would see. Thanks for the confirmation.
Oh, jeez, another contrail conspiracy thread is among us...
Trivisonno can get a bit moonbatty at times.
I've seen them once, just as you describe them, over the Detroit area. Disregarding the "contrails", what I found odd was the flight pattern....all due east and west, and pretty evenly spaced north to south.....not at all the normal flight paths for airliners I normally see from here. The day that I saw this was in November. Never before or since.
If they are spreading but still visible, then you have chemical trails.
