One evacuee said, "They've been allocated federal funds to fix the levee system, and it never got done. I fault the mayor of our city personally. I really do."
It is amazing to me that she keeps twisting the blame to everyone else but herself. It is also amazing that the press cooperates with her and barely mentions any blame that Blanco shares. Oh, I forget thems the Dems speaking.
As a former governor and now a businessman, Roemer said he must look at the situation through two sets of eyes.
"A political answer would be that it has been an overwhelming crisis and anyone would have had a problem," he said. "She hasnt run. She has rolled up her sleeves, and I like that. A totally honest answer, with all the bark off, is no governor has ever faced this kind of crisis. Its new ground. My hope is shell get more help from the federal government, which I think has let her down, and shell lead in terms of planning for the future."
The federal government let her down??? How about she didn't let her ego down so that she could receive the help she needed.
Ms. Washington, let's see you get in the trenches and start changing the peoples mindsets. Let's see how quickly they change from a whoa is me, you owe me everything, to a proactive "I'll take accountability for my actions and change my lifestyle."
It is about time Nagin got grilled. If a kid can drive a bus full of people out of danger, Nagin could have found drivers if he really wanted to. Too bad Blanco hasn't got a tough grilling over the air for the way she handled things.
