Al Franken Leaving Air America by December 10.

AL FRANKEN IS A PROVINCIAL FOUR-EYED BIGOT Por Humberto Fontova The south comes in for great sport in Franken's new book. "The Republican party became the home to Southern bigots and still is today," he smirks early on. "Evangelical Christians fervently support Israel to fulfil the prophecy of the second coming, the fiery death of all Jews!" he hoots. South Carolina gets slammed for it's state flag. Bob Jones University for it's official dating policy. Washington Times Editor and native Arkansan Wesley Pruden gets smeared because his father was the chaplain (fifty years ago) for the White Citizens Council. "What's...

A response to a letter sent to HP investor relations: I apologize to your offense to the radio commercial airing on an Air America affiliate. It is not the view of HP to use mediums like TV or radio to support or disagree with any type of political agendas, and the overriding consideration in buying media is to reflect HP as a responsible and global corporate citizen of good standing. When purchasing media for use in communicating HP messages, we generally look for where are core target is and where we will garner the highest response rates. We do not...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Air America has shut its sales offices in Los Angeles and Chicago and is recasting its business plan, the network's president said on Wednesday as troubles beset the liberal talk show network. With Air America not broadcasting in those two cities after a financial dispute in April, network president Jon Sinton said, "There's not much sense in having sales offices in cities where you don't control a station." About 15 to 20 people were laid off in the closing of the sales offices, the latest sign of problems for Air America, launched on March 31...

Liberal radio is airing bad jokes and worst taste The United States "is on the slippery slope to theocratic fascism." "The Catholic Church has been secretly encouraging oral sex for years." Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld "ought to be tortured." President Bush should be taken out and shot. Those are a few nutso nuggets from the hosts of Air America Radio, which calls itself the new liberal voice.

Whether you're looking for clear differences between the Republicans and Democrats to convince a friend not to vote for a third party, sleuthing for information on campaign funding sources, or just want a few juicy statistics proving that companies are actually given larger tax breaks when they buy gas-guzzling cars, The American Voice website featuring Dr. Dave as its resident expert could be your lucky find. Dr. Dave's Fact of the Day may shock you, or simply back up your already-firm opinion with useful statistics. Did you know that just over 30 percent of all 18-24 year-olds in the United...

Air America's web site is today's "Cool Site of the Day." It's average thus far is a 4, but I think we can get it lower! Vote 1. Alas, there is no zero.

NEXT WEEK, Air America Radio debuts its around-the-clock radio station of the left. Al Franken will play the marquee role, filling the noon-to-3:00 p.m. slot. Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead will run the morning program with Public Enemy rapper Chuck D. And comedienne Janeane Garofalo will be punching the clock at 8:00 p.m. Opening Day is March 31. Which raises a good question: Why don't they just wait 24 hours and do the launch on April Fool's Day? Suddenly the idea that liberals can have a successful talk-radio franchise has become something other than a joke. It's hard to say...

March 29 issue - Al Franken is eating a sandwich—demolishing it, really—blissfully unaware of the barrage of wet, sticky mouth sounds he's sending into the microphone that hangs in front of his face. It's the third day of recorded rehearsals for Franken's daily radio show on Air America, a left-leaning, all-talk network that launches next week, and he's trying to choke down a quick lunch during the few minutes of commercials between segments. On the other side of the studio desk, the show's cohost, Franken's friend and radio pro Katherine Lanpher, is experiencing every note of the gastric symphony. She...

NEW YORK (AP) — They haven't got a name or a launch date yet, but the entrepreneurs who dream of launching a liberal radio network have just landed themselves a lead man: Comedian and best-selling author Al Franken. Progress Media and Franken told The Associated Press Tuesday they have reached an agreement for Franken to host a live, three-hour daily broadcast that would form the anchor of the programming schedule.

Al Franken is literally breathless. He's talking a mile a minute and sounding like a kid who's just arrived home victorious after a schoolyard brawl. And in a way, he has. Franken's just learned that his book, the controversial, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right, has unseated Bill O'Reilly's tome atop the best-seller list of The New York Times. "We're very, very happy here today. I was No. 1 for the first five weeks and then he had it last week - for that one bright, shining moment of Camelot,"...

Al Franken must be having a hard time these days. The liberal media have been parading him on all the shows -- to claim that the liberal media is not liberal at all, but really a right wing propaganda machine. These liberal media outlets (along with a silly lawsuit from Fox News), have helped to propel Al Franken's new book into the bestseller lists. But it would only be fitting that when appearing on a liberal network Franken would complain he is being censored. Decent folks were aghast at such chutzpah on CNN's Crossfire Monday, when Franken subbed for...
