Former US secretary of state and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was appointed Thursday as the new chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast. Clinton will serve for five years in the largely ceremonial role, the Northern Irish institution announced. “It is a great privilege to become the chancellor of Queen’s University, a place I have great fondness for and have grown a strong relationship with over the years,” Clinton said in a statement.

On Monday, during an interview with the Des Moines Register, 2020 presidential hopeful mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg said drug possession should not result in jail time. Buttigieg said, “Incarceration should not even be a response to drug possession. What I have seen is while there continues to be all kinds of harms associated with drug possession and use, it is also the case that we have created in an effort to deal with a public health problem, we have created an even bigger problem — a justice problem, and it’s own form of a health problem when...

Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said President Donald Trump was a real estate developer, and therefore “not really a business person.” BRENNAN: At the DNC in 2016, you called Donald Trump a “risky, reckless and radical choice” and the country you said couldn’t afford to make that mistake. BLOOMBERG: Did I say that? BRENNAN: It was a memorable quote. Has he done anything to make you reconsider that? Do you think he’s doing a good job? BLOOMBERG: I think he, it’s, I would give him an incomplete grade. Some of the things that...

A petition calling on the Trump administration to formally recognize the Antifa movement as a terrorist organization has reached the threshold after which the White House is compelled to reply. The effort passed the 100,000 benchmark around 8 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday. Though the petition had 30 days to reach that goal, it did so in less than a week.

Rapper Talib Kweli and some of his more than one million social media followers repeatedly attacked Breitbart News reporter Jerome Hudson with racial epithets on Twitter, but faced no disciplinary action from the platform. The 40-year-old Brooklyn rapper began his attack on Hudson by writing: "Who's this clown writing for Breitbart? My coon senses are tingling." Hudson responded, "Why are you so quick to resort to name-calling, my brother? Can you not respect me as a man and attempt a civil conversation?" To which the rapper responded, "No. I do not respect you as a man. You are here to...

Less than a week after she was allegedly assaulted by Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields has resigned from the conservative news site because she says her employer did not have her back in the days following the incident. “Today I informed the management at Breitbart News of my immediate resignation,” Fields said in a statement to BuzzFeed early Monday. “I do not believe Breitbart News has adequately stood by me during the events of the past week and because of that I believe it is now best for us to part ways.” Fields’ colleague, editor-at-large Ben Shapiro,...

This is apparently one of those things that is an open, and yet non-discussed, secret. Several people have queried why they would be getting Ted Cruz campaign donation requests/solicitation directly from Breitbart, and/or getting donation requests from Ted Cruz on Breitbart letterhead. The answer is simple, yet perhaps like me you never knew. The Breitbart Media Group is financially backed and funded by Hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer. Mercer was/is the originating financial backer for the Ted Cruz "Keep the Promise" (KtP 1, KtP2 and KtP3) Super-PACs. Mercer is also the financial backing behind Cambridge Analytica. Cambridge Analytica is the receiver...

Politico reports that President Obama's upcoming executive gun control will force a number of private gun sellers to get their Federal Firearms License (FFL) and perform background checks on every gun sold. [Snip] According to Politico, "Obama will tighten the definition of what it means to be 'engaged in the business' of firearms sales." Currently, those who sell firearms with the "principal objective of livelihood and profit" must have an FFL. Those selling as hobby or those who sell occasionally from a private collection do not. Obama plans to change the language so that those who sell as a hobby...

As the end of the year approaches, Donald Trump is solidly ensconced at the top of the Republican polls nationally. The man just behind him? Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) , an establishment bugaboo. The establishment’s favorite candidate, Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) , is currently running far behind in national polling, a distant third in Iowa, and in a deadlock with Cruz and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for second in New Hampshire. Panic time. So, here’s the establishment roundup for Christmas week. If You Support Donald Trump, You Want to Lose. Earlier this week, Bret Stephens of The...

The Obama administration, despite the president's promises of transparency, is "more dangerous" to the media than any other White House in history, USA Today's Washington Bureau Chief Susan Page said this weekend. Page, speaking Saturday at a White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) seminar, also said the administration is "more restrictive," in reference to the its leak investigations and naming Fox News' James Rosen as a co-conspirator in a violation of the federal Espionage Act, writes The Washington Post's Eric Wemple in an opinion piece Tuesday. Veteran New York Times reporter Peter Baker, telling one of the stories, said that while...

When your opening act is an accused rapist and molester of women, a man who lied to a grand jury and was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice, a man who actually stood in the Rose Garden of the White House and lied as follows: But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time -- never. These allegations are false. And I...

Remember Julia, the fictional woman created by the Obama campaign to illustrate the benefits of big government? Now there is hard evidence that Julia should probably stay home and pick up her government check rather than getting a good job. A new chart put together by Gary Alexander, Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State, shows that Julia, as a single mom with two kids in daycare, would be better off remaining in her $29,000 per year job than she would be in a $69,000 per year job because of the benefits she would obtain from the government. In the lower paying job,...

As a presidential candidate in 2008, Barack Obama disavowed any connection with former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, the Weather Underground radical who was one of Obama's early backers and his colleague on the board of the Woods Fund in Chicago. We now have proof that Obama's association with Ayers continued even after Obama had been elected to represent Illinois in the U.S. Senate, in the form of a scrubbed blog post placing Obama at the home of Ayers and his wife, fellow radical Bernadine Dohrn, on July 4, 2005

[SNIP] My plan that Thursday had been to travel to Camp David to cover the G8 Summit that was convening just 15 miles from my Maryland home. But when I began reading Walker's account of his tangle with Kimberlin, I soon spotted the name of a Democrat campaign consultant, Neal Rauhauser, described as an "associate" of Kimberlin. This was clearly newsworthy, and raised the story above the level of a squabble between bloggers. Rauhauser is a self-described "hacker," and in 2010 was accused by Tea Party activists of organizing a campaign of online harassment known as "TwitterGate." This apparent connection...

Yesterday, I, along with others, posted a story about a forensic technician with the L.A. coroner's department, who died under suspicious circumstances. Rumors began to fly that he was killed as part of some sort of coverup relating to Andrew Breitbart. In an attempt to find some answers, I called Ed Winter. Mr. Winter is the Assistant Chief Operations/PIO. His name and number are listed on the original release of the AB autopsy results: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/04/20/Coroner-Andrew-Breitbart-Died-of-Heart-Failure Mr. Winter told me that, as far as he knows, the poisoned forensic tech was NOT part of the Andrew Breitbart investigation. Just thought I'd...

Barack Obama’s association with radical Critical Race Theory professor Derrick Bell did not end after Harvard Law School--and certainly not at the April 24, 1990 rally at which Obama embraced Bell, literally and figuratively. Breitbart News has discovered a letter sent by Obama to Bell in February 1995 in which Obama asks Bell to review--and to blurb--an early version of Obama’s autobiography, then entitled Dreams of My Father.
