We all know there are a lot of breakthrough cases , where vaccinated individuals are infected with Covid. This is true, and we all know it whichever side of the Vax debate we come down on. What I am wondering, and hope somebody here knows, Is how many, if any, of those cases are in folks who also previously had covid? Also, how many who have natural immunity from having had Covid, if any, have been re-infected?

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - A recent report featured prominently in The New York Times suggested breakthrough infections of COVID-19 are much more rare than current statistics show. The Times report stated the odds of a fully vaccinated person contracting COVID-19 on a given day are 1 in 5,000, citing statistics from King County, WA and other metro areas around the country. Dr. Scott Lindquist, Washington's State Epidemiologist cast some doubt on the reliability of the Times' calculations. "I think those are numbers that are manipulated that don't take into the context of everyone who's asymptomatic," said Lindquist. OHA’s most recent...

IM Doctor Sounds The Alarm On Breakthrough Cases… This was posted today at Naked Capitalism by an internal medicine doctor who is a regular contributor. IM Doc August 8, 2021 at 8:33 am We continue to have quite a bit of infection in the community. In my own practice, I am usually seeing 5-15 cases a day of COVID. The majority of these cases are vaccinated breakthroughs. There have been 2 whole days this week where the entire day were all vaccinated breakthroughs. Please note this is the outpatient side. Despite Dr. Walensky’s reassurance to Americans that these are very...

COVID cases among vaccinated on the rise in Clark County Cases of COVID-19 in fully vaccinated people are on the rise, accounting for 15 percent of July’s confirmed cases in Clark County, a Southern Nevada Health District official said Thursday. This is compared with 2 percent in March and 3 percent in April, ballooning to 12 percent in June, Cassius Lockett, the district’s director of disease surveillance and control, said in an afternoon interview. So far in August, the percentage is 16 percent. The increase in these breakthrough cases coincides with the delta variant, a far more infectious strain of...

‘Vast majority’ of Covid-19 cluster in Cape Cod were vaccinatedIn Cape Cod, a geographic cape extending into the Atlantic Ocean in Massachusetts, the vaccinated are falling ill with Covid-19. The American town with one of the highest vaccination rates in the state, now has the highest rate of new cases. An official told ABC News on Monday that the “vast majority” of the 132 Covid-19 cases were among vaccinated individuals. At least 33 people in a nursing home in Yarmouth on Cape Cod have tested positive for SARS-Cov-2. Most of the residents that tested positive were vaccinated, reported the Boston...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stopped counting every infection among people fully immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine who later tested positive for the virus. So-called 'breakthrough cases' occur when people contract coronavirus at least 14 days after receiving their final dose of the vaccine. As of April 26, 9,245 Americans out of more than 95 million fell ill with COVID-19 after being vaccinated, about 0.009 percent. However, at the beginning of May, the CDC revealed it will no longer report all breakthroughs and instead only those that lead to hospitalization or death, as first reported by...

Previously, states reported all cases of breakthrough infection, regardless of severity, to the CDC. States will continue to report all positive cases of Covid-19 to the CDC — including any mild or asymptomatic breakthrough cases — but the agency will not differentiate between mild or symptom-free cases in vaccinated versus unvaccinated people. It is unclear if states will continue to collect mild or asymptomatic breakthrough case data. The CDC spokesperson told CNN that the change in breakthrough case reporting would not affect the understanding of vaccine efficacy. “CDC is still doing studies on mild breakthrough infections, so people should not...

The New York Yankees have had seven members of their traveling party test positive for COVID-19, according to manager Aaron Boone's pregame comments on Wednesday. Three of the seven positive tests came from coaches and the other four are support staff members. All seven members had previously been vaccinated, and six of the cases are considered asymptomatic in nature, Boone noted. The Yankees had previously had two coaches and one support staff member test positive for COVID-19 ahead of their series opener against the Rays in St. Petersburg on Tuesday.

You’ve got to love the CDC..:-) There is no end to their attempts to keep the public in the dark. They have delayed publishing “adverse events reports” by months...making it appear that far less reports had been received. Now, they want to obfuscate the breakthrough case reporting. “As previously announced, CDC is transitioning to reporting only patients with COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough infection that were hospitalized or died to help maximize the quality of the data collected on cases of greatest clinical and public health importance. That change in reporting will begin on May 14, 2021. In preparation for that transition,...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has just released brand-new data on the percentage of people who have become infected with COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated. In those totals, released on Friday, April 30, more than 95 million Americans were fully vaccinated as of Monday, April 26. Of those nearly 100 million fully vaccinated people, only 9,245 became infected with so-called vaccine breakthrough cases. That's an efficacy rate of 99.999. A total of 5,827 (63 percent) of the cases were women, and 4,245 (45 percent) were adults age 60 and over. "It is important to note that reported...

"The CDC told CNN on Thursday that there have been 5,800 breakthrough Covid cases, which represents only 0.007% of people who have been vaccinated." "More infectious Covid mutations could also necessitate regular boosters. “We may have cycles where we have to keep boosting people — either boosting them with the original vaccine, which gives you enough antibodies to spill over to the variants, or develop a vaccine that’s specific for one or more of the variants,” Fauci told MSNBC in March."
